JADEN LLOYD BACK AND LOVING IT

By Graham Potter | Saturday, March 15, 2025

By his own admission, Jaden Lloyd has faced several challenges in his career.

From moving around to different racing precincts, to taking time out on several occasions for a variety of reasons, Lloyd’s career has struggled to settle into a happy rhythm for an extended period of time with the demands of his profession, both physically and mentally, often seeming to sit heavily on his shoulders.

After another period down south, Lloyd returned to Queensland recently and, after a freshen up in which he did nor ride in January, Lloyd picked up the game again, kicking off this new phase of his career at the Gold Coast on February 8.

In thirty-one rides since resuming, Lloyd has ridden six winners at a strike-rate of 19.35 percent.

After landing wins at Ipswich, Gold Coast, Gatton and Coffs Harbour, Lloyd made a strong statement about his capabilities and intentions … and the rapid progress he is making once again … when he rubber-stamped his latest comeback with an impressive metropolitan double at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Lloyd was understandably chuffed with that outcome and his relaxed demeanour spoke volumes about how he is tackling the task this time around.

“I think I am definitely riding a lot better than I ever have,” said Lloyd.

“It’s more to do with confidence, I’d say. I’m not going out there with any pressure. There was a time when I was overthinking things and getting stressed out.

“I’ve put that aside and I’m doing better now … and I’ve got everything else under control in my life, so that helps.
“I’m really happy with where I am now … especially coming to town and riding a couple of winners. Hopefully that gives me a bit of a kick-along”

Lloyd’s winners were the first-timer, the $41 outsider Financially Famous for trainer Louise White and the $4 favourite Ser Joh for trainer Robert Heathcote.
