RYAN MOORE RETURNS. READY FOR HONG KONG

By Graham Potter | Thursday, December 4, 2025

Jockey Ryan Moore celebrated his return to action with a ‘business as usual’ double success at Lingfield on Wednesday.

Moore has been out of the saddle since August after suffering a stress fracture to his leg and he wasted little time in announcing his presence, claiming a win in only his second ride back aboard the Richard Hughes trained Lazzar … this after only just failing to salute one race earlier.

Moore’s second win came Morrophore in the Winter Oaks Trial.

The meeting held more importance to Moore than the resuming of his steady flow of winners. It was, in essence, a fitness teat for his scheduled upcoming high-profile commitments in Hong Kong, which includes a privileged place in a stellar lineup for the Longines International Jockeys’ Championship (IJC) on December 10.

"It's been a while, so it's good to be back," Moore said, talking to Sky Sports Racing. "We have some runners there (in Hong Kong) on the Sunday (December 14) and I'll be riding at Happy Valley (in the IJC), so I'm looking forward to that."

Moore now resumes his position as the number one rider for Ballydoyle, a seat kept warm by Christophe Soumillon, and he will partner the two Aidan O’Brien trained runners at the Longines Hong Kong International Races … with O’Brien lining up The Lion In Winter and Los Angeles in the Hong Kong Mile and Hong Kong Vase respectively.
