JOKER'S GRIN ON THE MOVE
By Graham Potter | Wednesday, January 7, 2026
The 2025 $5 million Quokka winner Joker’s Grin is changing stables, moving from the small Western Australian based stable of Bernie Miller and crossing the country to join the juggernaut stable of Chris Waller in Sydney.
The horse was superbly managed by Miller, who seldom has more than a half-a-dozen horses in his stable, taking the five-year-old son of Maschino’s race record to a very impressive nine wins, with two runner-up finishes, from only thirteen starts with $2.6 million banked in prize-money.
Apart from the Quokka, Joker’s Grin’s significant wins includes back-to-back wins in Group 3 company when taking out the Prince Of Wales Stakes and the Colonel Reeves Stakes.
Earlier in his career Joker’s Grin put a five-race winning sequence together to underline his class.
His last start was in the Group 1 Winterbottom in which he finished a close-up fifth behind Libertad, Overpass, Rey Magnerio and Rope Them In.
