FAVOURITE WARWOVEN SCRATCHED FROM THE TWO-YEAR-OLD CLASSIC. BJORN BAKER ISSUES STATEMENT

A devastated Bjorn Baker was handed a massive double disappointment when both of his Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic runners … the overwhelming race favourite Warwoven and Marsvingo … were scratched after being found to be lame on the eve of the race.
Just weeks earlier another lively Classic prospect from the Baker yard, Paradoxium, was sidelined with his Classic campaign being brought to an abrupt halt after he had suffered travel sickness and then contracting pneumonia.
Baker, who won the 2025 Classic with O’Ole, released a statement on the matter. It reads: ‘Marsvingo came up on the float on Wednesday night and, when trotted up on Thursday morning, was found to be lame. After our veterinarian, Dr Allan Frogley saw her in the afternoon we agreed that was the case and withdrawing her was the right decision in the horse’s best interests.
‘Warwoven was trotted up again this morning and, in the opinion of both Dr Allan and myself, we were satisfied he was fit to race. Unfortunately, the Queensland racing veterinarian’s were not of the same view and we respect and abide by their decision.’
