WINX'S HALF SISTER ON THE SCOREBOARD AT DOOMBEN

By Graham Potter | Wednesday, April 15, 2026

On the same day that Persian Caviar, a daughter of Black Caviar, saluted at Sandown, the family of Winx also added another winner to the honour roll when Time Of My Life, a half-sister to Winx, being out of Vegas Showgirl, got the job done at Doomben, albeit by the narrowest of margins.

Contesting a Fillies and Mares Class 3 Plate over 1200m, Time Of My Life was unwanted in the betting at $17 with her stable companion Zoufani ($4.60) clearly being the better fancied of the two Tony Gollan trained runners but, when the race came down to the business end of affairs, with Zoufani closing fast on Time Of My Life, it was the latter who stayed strong to the line, under an inch perfect ride by Angela Jones, to snare victory by the narrowest of margins.

Time Of My Life is a lightly raced five-year-old mare who has had nearly twice as many jump-outs and trials than she has had races. (Eighteen jump-outs and trials as opposed to ten race starts).

Originally with Peter Moody … and then with the Peter Moody / Katherine Coleman training partnership … Time Of My Life had six jump-outs for those stables between October 11, 2022 and September 5, 2023, without tasting race action, … but all of that patience then paid off when Time Of My Life won on debut in a Maiden Plate at Geelong on September 15, 2023.

Following that win, Time Of My life would only race once … for a fifth place finish …in the next fifteen months … a period peppered with another six jump-outs, but very limited race action.

After resuming from that break on December 22, 2024, Time Of My Life had two further starts … both unplaced … and another two jump-outs before time was called on her career down south and the daughter of I Am Invincible relocated to the Gollan yard.

The pattern didn’t change, at least not immediately.

In Gollan’s yard now, Time Of My Life had four trials between May and November 2025 before Gollan gave her the green light to return to action which she did on December 5, 2025.

She was immediately competitive for Gollan, finishing third in her first start for the stable … then second (both over 1000m) … and then winning third-up (in a Class 1) when taking the distance test out to 1200m.

Two not-so-flash runs followed … hence her starting price of $17 in this latest Doomben assignment where, not only did she get the result, but she did that by showing impressive gate speed, by setting a lively gallop throughout at the head of affairs, and by displaying courageous fighting qualities under pressure to ward off all challengers over the concluding stages.

It has been a long road for Time Of My Life get here, but she now has three wins behind her name (at a thirty percent strike-rate).

In six starts for Gollan, Time Of My Life has won twice and has also finished second once and third once … but perhaps, most importantly, she has put together a run of six uninterrupted starts without needing any extended break.

It remains to be seen if she can build her form from here, but that is already a positive.
