IZZY NEALE'S LANDS HER FIRST CITY WIN

By Graham Potter | Saturday, July 4, 2026

Apprentice Izzy Neale landed her first City win at Rosehill aboard the Brett Robb trained It’s a Tata in a Highway Handicap over 1200m.

This win was also a notable for the fact that it was It’s A Tata’s fourth successive victory … at a fair step up in competition … after wins at Gilgandra (in a Maiden over 1000m) … at Tamworth (in a Class 1 Showcase Handicap – a Heat Of The Rising Star over 1200m) and at Warren (in a Showcase Class 3 Handicap over 1000).

Neale has ridden It’s A Tata in all of the son of Pierata’s seven career starts to date and Robb was quick to give the young rider credit for the part she has played, not only in this latest win, but in the winning sequence that It’s A Tata is putting together.

“She is the only one to ride the horse on his way through,” said Robb. “She does all the work with him, and now she’s got a Highway with him. The horse just keeps raising the bar.”

Neale was understandably delighted with the result and the effort It’s A Tata put in to help give Neale her first city win.

“He (It’s A Tata) is very special to me. I think it is quite fitting that I can have my first city winner on him,” said Neale.

“The owners and Brett really like me on him … so, I’m just really lucky today … and I’m very happy.”

Robb confirmed that It’s A Tata had been purchased with a long-term view as a Country Championships horse … and, all being well … that plan is still very much the stable’s focus with this gelding.
