DIXON RESPONDS TO BENTLEY'S PRESS RELEASE REGARDING OFFER TO PURCHASE DOOMBEN

Brisbane Racing Club Chairman Kevin Dixon was asked by HRO to respond to the details released by Bob Bentley regarding Queensland Racing Limited’s proposed offer to purchase Doomben in February last year and the questions raised by that proposal.

He said he would be happy to do so, but it would be a very short answer.

This is the full text of Dixon’s response.

“Firstly, in terms of the release by Bob Bentley, it is a little bit loose on the truth.

“They come to us with a proposal loosely (based) around the sort of things he (Bentley) talked about (in his Press Release). It was very loose.

“We had one meeting.

“As you would expect with such a proposal it raised a whole bunch of issues in our mind. We just responded with the obvious ones.

“They were going to go away, address them and come to us with a proposal.

“I’m still waiting for it.”
