NADER PRESENTS HKJC TROPHIES AT DEAUVILLE

By Hong Kong Jockey Club | Sunday, August 12, 2012

The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Executive Director, Racing William A Nader attended the meeting at Deauville Racecourse, France yesterday when two races were held in the name of the Club – the Prix Gontaut-Biron - Hong Kong Jockey Club (G3, 2000m) and Prix du Hong Kong Jockey Club (Handicap-1600m).

Mr Nader presented trophies to the winning connections of Don Bosco (Prix Gontaut-Biron - Hong Kong Jockey Club) and Moonday Sun (Prix du Hong Kong Jockey Club) after these two special races.

The sport of horse racing has a long history in both France and Hong Kong, attracting huge numbers of followers in both jurisdictions.

In 2009, The Hong Kong Jockey Club and France Galop inaugurated two races to be run in the name of Le French May and France Galop at Happy Valley each May, and conversely two races to be run in the name of The Hong Kong Jockey Club at Deauville each August.

These two races reflect the strong links between France Galop and The Hong Kong Jockey Club, organisations that both play an important role in promoting global racing development.

This year's Le French May Trophy and France Galop Cup were run at Happy Valley Racecourse on Wednesday 9 May.
