Form assessed for a good 3 surface.

RACE 1:

Risking favourite TIBROGARGAN MISS. Felt the S/Coast race was suspect for a few reasons and may not get the lead today. POWERFUL SAGA (2) looked good winning GC on debut and I am certain will take great benefit from that performance. MISHANI DI CAPRIO (1) has been an honest city juvenile this campaign and looks certain to run well from the good gate. We’ll put TIBROGARGAN MISS (8) in for 3rd. Rough chances 3 and 4.

RACE 2:

BEST OF THE REST (2) should be straight to the front unless he’s lost a leg since his dominant staying win here 2 runs ago. I think there’s plenty of upward side to this four-year-old. The $1.85 fixed is a realistic quote. ELMANTOSH (1) doesn’t win out of turn but surely is the hardest for the favourite to beat. SECRET GARDEN (3) is best of the rest. Rough chance 4.

RACE 3:

ESPIRITU (3) hasn’t missed a cheque in an eight start career. Impressive D’bn win a fortnight ago and posted snappy figures. Versatile, can lead or come from behind. PRETTYFAMOUS (1) is a smart mare and was just beaten in open company last Saturday. Logical danger. SOME CALL HER WILD (8) will be on pace from good gate and can run top 3. Rough chances 2 and 6.

RACE 4:

BLACKBOARD SPECIAL (14) has been set for this 1st-up. Well above-average and drawn for pleasure with the good gate and M. Cahill riding. FLIGHT IN SPACE (3) ran well behind the smart Lucky Meteor here last campaign and also set for this 1st-up but not as well drawn as BLACKBOARD SPECIAL. GLENDARA (8) is another 1st-upper and will charge late. Rough chances 7, 9, 11 and 16.

RACE 5:

REAL FAVULOUS (8) is on the 7 day back-up but did well this track and trip last Saturday, finished off nicely behind Architect. Appeals at $7 fixed. REMAGEN BRIDGE (9) is a former Victorian with handy form and was scratched last week from a wide alley which is worth keeping in mind. FRIENDLY DRAGON (6) was plain last week but worth another chance on best form, particularly from the rails gate. Rough chances 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 and 14.

RACE 6:

NARDOO (12) was ultra impressive in a Doomben maiden win on debut, winning by a space and running quick time. I think she can take a fairly big step and be a winning prospect again. Alley and light weight are pluses. DENARIUS (5) beat a similar field 2 weeks ago but no reason why he won’t run well again. WORTHY CAUSE (4) has been freshened and the good alley helps him. Solid finisher. Rough chances 1, 2, 3 and 6.

RACE 7:

INTO THE RED (8) doesn’t win out of turn but is in form and gets a beaut run from the good gate today. Might even lead. No excuses for him today. FALINO (2) is a last start Doomben winner and gets a good run off the rails. Up 4kg is no luxury. BLACK CASH (5) can make his presence felt 2nd-up. Rough chances 3, 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15.

RACE 8:

EIGHTS A PARTY (8) will give them a start but is a powerful finisher and only needs no bad luck in transit to mow these down. BLACK JET (4) will be another finishing well and wasn’t that inferior to EIGHTS A PARTY on their last runs. Watch for BIG WHEELS (15) making a late charge. Rough chances 2, 5, 9, 10 and 13.

BEST BET: BESTOF THE REST (Race 2).

BEST EACHWAY: REAL FAVULOUS (Race 5).

NO BEST ROUGHIE.
