DOOMBEN, NOVEMBER 7: DAVID FOWLER SELECTS ...

By David Fowler | Friday, November 6, 2015

Selections for Doomben tomorrow. Please note selections have been posted a day before the Saturday 7.30am Saturday final scratchings deadline and analysis is prepared for a track in the soft-heavy range Please check final fields and conditions for any changes on the day

RACE 1:

Insufficient data to frame analysis but I can report early educated money for TISANI GREY (7).

RACE 2:

PERPLEXITY (1) rounded up a similar field here a fortnight ago and with only 1kg more, appeals as the hardest to beat again. COL 'N' LIL (4) is fitter after 3 runs back and won twice on soft but a slight concern at 2200m. UNO FIVE (6) was dominant in a weaker race on Tuesday but can place. Rough chances 2 and 3.

RACE 3:

SKIP TOWN (2) is a value chance. Was 4 lengths behind TRUBIA here a fortnight ago but the run was sound. Races closer to the tempo off a better alley. Won on heavy. TRUBIA (5) is chasing a city hat trick and won twice on slow but can he get such a perfect run as he has secured in his past two wins. DIAMOND FUND (4) went a little better last run after setting a strong speed. Leads again and handles soft/heavy. Rough chances 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

RACE 4:

ZAGAZIG (12) is a quick mare and attractively weighted under the Plate conditions. Will tire late at 1050m but can hang on. Won on soft going. TISANI TOMSO (3) is going great guns and proven soft/heavy. Legitimate winning chance again. I'll include the unbeaten DANTGA (5) but the alley is a serious concern although no worries in wet. Rough chances 4 and 7.

RACE 5:

GLENDARA (1) is foolproof eachway. Fitter after 3 runs from a spell, proven at the mile and in soft going, he will either lead or boxseat here. O'REILLY'S REVENGE (2) is an above average Sydney visitor in good hands but wouldn't want any more rain. DECONSTRUCTED (3) is a spruik horse but I think is rock bottom odds in this harder race. Rough chances 4, 8, 9 and 11.

RACE 6:

I won't be surprised to see FINAL CRESCENDO (1) run well 1st-up. Hasn't had much luck in other 1st-up performances but trialled like a rocket at Grafton recently. Ran 2nd on heavy in good class race in a previous prep. CHARGE ACOUNT (3) will go best if he can control the tempo and has a fitness edge on several market players. LUCKY TOM (4) is smart, won on heavy and capable 1st-up. Rough chance 2.

RACE 7:

Why can't JUMBO PRINCE (1) win again? Talented 4yo who was good 1st-up here a fortnight ago and the extra 150m is a step in the right direction. Excels on soft (won 6 from 9). CHOICE BRO (4) has won on soft and the good alley might see him a little closer to the tempo. Good finisher. ROSENET (10) has been placed on soft/heavy and is running honestly. Rough chances 3, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12.

RACE 8:

TARZAN (6) has shown potential in 2 S/Coast wins including a soft track triumph. Can measure up to this harder assignment. BIG TREE (1) is honest but finding it difficult to win. BANDA SPICE (3) has placed on soft and will run well with the good alley and 2kg weight drop. Rough chances 2 and 7.

BEST BET: JUMBO PRINCE (race 7).

BEST EACHWAY: GLENDARA (race 5).

BEST ROUGHIE: SKIP TOWN (race 3).

QUADRELLA: 1, 2, 3, 9 / 1, 3, 4 / 1, 4, 10 / 1, 3, 6, 7.
