DOOMBEN, NOVEMBER 28: DAVID FOWLER SELECTS ...

By David Fowler | Friday, November 27, 2015

Please note form assessed a day before the Saturday 7.30am Saturday final scratchings deadline. Please check final fields for any changes on the day. Form assessed for a good 3.

RACE 1:

Too many first starters means insufficient data. However they would want to be smart to beat SPOT THE DIFF (1) who will wear blinkers for the first time. Freshened since her October 17 win this track.

RACE 2:

Good staying race. CHILLIN WITH DYLAN (1) is getting out to his comfort zone now after a slightly unlucky fifth in last week’s Recognition Stakes. Will be hard to beat. ANNAMAN (4) will provide strong opposition after a runway win this track and trip a fortnight ago. Does go up 2.5kg for this. GRAPPA BRANDY (5) was beaten nearly 11 lengths by ANNAMAN but the margin was unfair as he worked hard early. Rough chances 3, 6 and 9.

RACE 3:

A lot of question marks here but at latest PRIVLAKA (5) has a good gate, a light weight and trialled impressively. Maps to secure a good run. MOST IMPORTANT (2) was very good last campaign and will run well 1st-up. How is LE CHEF (1) going? At his best, he is a live chance so monitor markets. Rough chance 4.

RACE 4:

Very hard race. ESPIRITU (1) was good winning 1st-up and despite a rise of 2kg can win again. The rails alley is a big advantage at this start. TREATMELIKEALADY (6) comes in fresh and profiles well. Should nearly boxseat considering the alley and speed in the race. DANTGA (9) was very good 1st-up and blinkers are a significant gear addition. Rough chances 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 15.

RACE 5:

Like this race. TOTAL AUTHORITY (13) will either lead or boxseat and was impressive at Ipswich last start. I've got no dramas about her running the 1350m. I'll be saving on SALUTER (1) who will make light work of the wide alley and is coming off sound Open Company assignments. HI SON (2) will run well 2nd up. Rough chances 7, 9 and 11.

RACE 6:

Hard race and I think the general market is skewed because SECRET SAGA is too short. BANDA SPICE (6) has D.Browne aboard and has been going well without luck on occasions. Good gamble on both totes. RIAPINKA (10) arrives from Sydney with a fair rap on her while EDGE AWAY (9) is still a Sydney maiden up but will finish off well at generous odds. Rough chances 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 13.

RACE 7:

TEMPLE OF BOOM (1) maps excellently for his 1st-up run. While he is 9 years of age, he continues to race well and does perform fresh. It's a long time since he has struck a race as comfortable of this. DIDNTCOSTALOT (3) is placed to lead all the way. I'm giving the Gollan stable a great chance of a Group 3 Trifecta with FONTELINA (2) a chance from the rails. Rough chances 4, 5, 8 and 12.

RACE 8

I'm staying with COMANCINA who ran well here a fortnight ago and with some "spruik" horses in the race, he will be generously priced again. BENTLES (3) will take benefit from its 1st-up Ipswich win and is proven at the track and trip as is stablemate SHEISWHATSHEIS (10) but she does go up 4kg on her latest 3rd this track. Rough chances 8 and 9.

BEST BET: TOTAL AUTHORITY (race 5).

BEST EACHWAY: COMACINA (race 8).

BEST ROUGHIE: EDGE AWAY (race 6).

QUADRELLA: 1, 2, 9, 13 / 2, 3, 6, 9, 10 / 1, 2, 3 / 1, 3, 8, 9, 10.
