THE MILLIONS – THE FINAL FIELD FOR THE 2YO CLASSIC

While Queensland trainers, in general, do not have the buying power at the leading sales of some of their more affluent counter-parts down south, they are certainly not short of expertise.
This year half of the field for the $2 million Magic Millions Two-year-Old Classic is made of Queensland based runners which is an absolute credit to all of those involved.
Queensland runners, in fact, filled the first two places in last year’ s event courtesy of two powerful performances from Le Chef and Pepperano.
Can Queensland make it back to back wins?
The betting (at the time of writing) suggests that Capitalist ($1.80) only has to show up win. If you follow that logic you are calling the Snowden trained runner a certainty and we all know there is no such thing in racing ... particularly when the barrier draw has yet to be undertaken.
The Tony Gollan trained Zelady’s Night Out ($8.50) is the only other horse currently under double figures in the betting but, if you like to have a nibble at the other end of the market, you have a choice as no less than eight horses are priced from $30 to $101.
