WINNO'S WINNERS (2): DOOMBEN, APRIL 9

By Darren Winningham | Friday, April 8, 2016

A big shout out to editor of www.horseracingingonly.com.au, Graham Potter, for an awesome effort last week tipping the first 6 winners on the Doomben program! Well done Graham.

I managed to tip two winners and managed to box the first 4 in Race 8 which paid over $12,000 on the NSW TAB and $11,600 on UBET.

Punters should be warned the rail is 7m out this week the entire track at Doomben. This will result in leaders and horses racing handy having a distinct advantage in the races scheduled.

As this form assessment was made one day prior to raceday, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 1

Caillebotte (8) from the Matthew Dunn stables at Murwillumbah looks a promising stayer. Brisbane’s leading rider Jimmy Orman has been booked to ride it and should give it a nice ride.

Watch for an improved run from Torbay (10) to be ridden by Ryan Wiggins after being checked at a vital stage in the race last weekend.

Selections: 8-2-10-4

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 2

Good quality race. Some good 2 year olds going around. Oink (2) was unlucky at its first start and has trialled impressively recently. Some improvement could see it winning the race.

Take note of the wonderful colours that have been designed by Heidi Whalley in a lovely tribute to Tim Bell. Tim’s father Grant has a share in the horse - will be wonderful to see it win for the family.

Nicconi Leggera (6) from the Chris Munce stable was impressive winning its first start leading all the way. Could be hard to run down again.

Selections: 2-6-8-5

********************************************************************************************************

Race 3

Primal Flight (3) performed well in a recent trial on the Gold Coast. Jimmy Orman takes over from the suspended Luke Dittman. Could get out and lead and prove hard to run down.

Selections: 3-5-9-6

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 4

Reckless Abandon (5) was impressive last start. Could prove one to follow. Dream Speed (9) trained by Matthew Dunn and ridden by Michael “Muppy” Hellyer was scratched on Wednesday at Ipswich for this race. Could be a roughie to put in your exotics.

Selections: 5-3-4-9

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 5

Divine Centuri (4) is going well. Perfect Dare (5) won a nice trial recently at the Gold Coast and could run well fresh from a spell.

Selections: 4-5-6. Rough chances 10 and 11

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 6

These 3 year old races are always tough this race is no different. Dee Nine Elle (2) with Tegan Harrison back in the saddle could run them ragged in front and scoot home. It is a tough race. Rainbow Lace (7) has been trialling well on the Gold Coast and is first up.

Selections: 2-7-9. Rough chances 4 and 8

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 7

Chariot of Gold (10) has drawn the rails and should ping to the lead could be hard to run down out in front.

Lucky Black (6) led last week and won easy and is backing up this week. Could sit behind Chariot of Gold and take a run at him in the last 50 metres. Could be Jim Byrne V Jimmy Orman in the final 50 metres - the battle of the Jims!

Selections: 10-6-3-4. Rough chance Sir Moments (1) may improve after its last run but the track may be his downfall again.

*********************************************************************************************************

Race 8

The last race. Tough race with many chances.

Elegant Composure (10) has been in winning form.

Rainbow Magic (6) to be ridden by Beau Appo has been running will without much luck, maybe Beau can find the winning post in the last for the punters.

Sony Legend (9) has improved as well but no luck with the barrier draw. I would put a big watch on the first reserve Hit the Road Jack (17) who has drawn the rails and could be ridden handy for the Robert Heathcote stable.

Selections 10-6-9-17 with rough chances to the 1 and 14.

********************************************************************************************************

Quaddie (races 5,6,7,8): 4, 5, 6 / 2, 7, 9 / 6, 10 / 6, 9, 10,17 - cost $72 for $1.

Small Quaddie (races 5,6,7,8): 4, 6 / 2 / 6, 10 / 9, 10, 17 - cost $12 for $1.

Treble (races 6,7,8): 2, 7, 9 / 6, 10 / 6, 9, 10,17 - cost will be $24 for $1.
