WINNO’S WINNERS - ROSEHILL, MAY 21

By Darren Winningham | Thursday, May 19, 2016

As this form assessment was made prior to raceday, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.

Race 1

If Legerity (1) is scratched from Doomben to run here he should prove hard to beat. (The two Hawkes runners in this race, Legerity and Redouble, are both dual entries in Brisbane and Sydney. Chances are one will run in each state.)

Selections: 1-8-5-10

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 2

A poor field – with Hipparchus (6) chasing a hat trick of wins here. Avdulla rides and is in great form lately.

Selections: 6-7-4-3

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 3

Bitburg (5) should be handy from barrier 5 and should be the one to beat. Noble Joey (6) will probably lead and may prove hard to run down with apprentice Rory Hutchings on board.

Selections: 5-6-3-4. Rough chance 1

******************************************************************************************************

Race 4

Dashie De Luxe (6) has been going good and could be some value here. Erika (1) is looking for a hat trick of wins with Jay Ford on board – has plenty of weight and is drawn wide so may need some luck. Pure Choice (15) gets in well with the claim for apprentice Jake Pracey-Holmes and has drawn gate one.

Selections: 6-1-15-2

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 5

Tsaritsa (5) is a good looking mare – may just get a trip to Brisbane if it wins here convincingly. Royal Tudor (3) and Seeking Asylum (4) have had some good runs recently and look the testing material.

Selections: 5-3-4-8. Rough chance 2

******************************************************************************************************

Race 6

Frill Seeking (2) won a recent barrier trial and looks forward enough to win this. Palazzo Pubblico (1) won first up from a short break.

Selections: 2-1-5-9

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 7

Marenostro (7) primed to go well after a nice barrier trial – Tye Angland on board and sure to give it a great chance. Rockolicious (10) has been racing well without any luck and could be hard to beat at best. Berry Delicious (5) always seems to produce its best performances at Rosehill - could be one at big odds.

Selections: 7-10-9-5. Rough chance 12

*******************************************************************************************************

Race 8

Muy Bien (6) won two starts ago at Rosehill when it controlled the race in front – then went to South Australia in the Queen South Stakes (Group 2) and failed. I am tipping back at Rosehill with Christian Reith on board you will see a marked improvement. Harlem Lady (11) came from well back resuming from a spell and won convincingly – looks the hardest to beat here.

Selections 6-11-5-8 with rough chance 2

******************************************************************************************************

Race 9

Le Cordon Bleu (9) performed well in a recent barrier trial beaten by Kaepernick who came out last week and slaughtered the opposition in the last race at Scone (I did declare it!). She’s Miss Devine returns from a failure at Caulfield but has won a recent barrier trial by 6.5 lengths. I think the race is between these two in the last. Caped Crusader (1) loves to lead and is second up from a spell.

Selections 9-4-11-1 with rough chances 2 and 8

******************************************************************************************************

Early Quaddie (races 2 to 5) 6 / 3, 5, 6 / 1, 6, 15 / 3, 5 - cost $36 for $1

Quaddie (races 6 to 9) 1, 2 / 5, 7, 10 / 5, 6, 11 / 4, 9, 11 - cost $54 for $1

Treble (races 7 to 9) 5, 7, 10 / 5, 6, 11 / 4, 9, 11 - cost $27 for $1

Small Quaddie (races 6 to 9) 1, 2 / 7, 10 / 6, 11 / 4, 9 - cost $16 for $1

This week’s MAD QUADDIE 2 / 7 / 6, 11 / 4, 9 - cost $4 for $1

Jockeys Challenge this week –

Christian Reith – probably at some nice odds! Watch out for the up and coming apprentice Rory Hutchings – he could be some serious value if he gets some luck on his rides.
