Do you have a nickname?

“Pup” – I get called it as my dad’s nickname is “Doggy.”

How long have you been riding?

Only 8 months.

You are an apprentice, who is your master?

Garnett Taylor on the Sunshine Coast.

Your fondest memory of working for Garnett?

Riding my first winner for him it was special. Then we got a double in Rockhampton together the other day (when I rode a treble) which was great.

Best thing you like about your work?

Love riding horses and just working with them.

What do you do when you cannot sleep?

Well ... there is always ... well, there is so many times when I cannot sleep to be honest. I get tired all the time so I would like to get plenty of sleep.

Jockeys start early in the morning what time do you get up to start work?

I start around 3am most days.

How do you prefer to be woken up in the morning?

With my own phone and an alarm.

A memorable horse you have ridden?

Well I did fall off in the 2016 Kilcoy Cup just recently and escaped injury.

What’s your favourite horse you have ridden?

Ms Sarandon – trained by Caroline Allardyce. I have had two wins on her.

What are you always late for?

Nothing really – I am always well on time for everything.

If you could change careers tomorrow what would you do?

Play Rugby League – probably be a half back.

What is your favourite music?

Listen to anything really – they are all just songs to me.

What is the most embarrassing song on your phone?

Wannabe – Spice Girls.

What is your favourite gadget?

Phone.

What would you chose as your last meal?

Lasagne

Name one person who you want to have dinner with?

My girlfriend – Dakota Graham

Name one thing you could not live without?

Toilet paper.

What is your greatest fear?

Spiders

One of your favourite places to be?

At home at the race course.

NRL/AFL favourite team?

NRL – Cowboys. AFL – Sydney Swans.

State of Origin time – NSW or QLD?

Queensland.

Who do you talk most to on the phone?

My girlfriend.

What do you like to put on a sandwich?

I love chicken, lettuce and pepper.

What toppings do you like on your pizza?

Ham and Pineapple – I order it that way then I take the Pineapple of before I eat it. It just doesn’t taste the same with just ham and cheese.

How do you define success?

Working hard and getting money.

Who is you man crush?

Jonathan Thurston – Cowboys NRL.

I am the best looking apprentice around!
