IPSW SEPT 17 - DASHING IRMY POWERS HOME

By Graham Potter | Sunday, September 20, 2009

Ipswich, September 17, 2009.
Track - Good. Rail - out 7.5m.
Class 1 Handicap (Fillies & Mares) - 1100m. Time: 1-04.74. (New Class record)
1 Dashing Irmy; 2 Kamadiva; 3 Sailon Silvergirl.

WINNER FEEDBACK:
Trainer Trevor Bailey: “I only had her for three runs in her last prep. I had her for a while. It took me a while to get her ready from her last trainer (for whom she only had one run on debut). I won with her first up and then she had a couple of hard runs on wet tracks so I put her out for a spell. I just wanted to give her a bit of time.

“She’s always shown us she’s got potential so we’ll just push on from here and might go to a town race with her.”

Jockey Glen Colless: “She’s a nice sort of filly. Doesn’t sort of know much at the moment ... sort of still learning a touch. It was good that we could ride her off the speed today. She just got a nice run just in behind them. She finished off good. There might be a few more races in her.

STEWARDS REPORT EXTRACT:
Kamadiva (B. Looker) was slow to begin. Daytime Drama (M. Cahill) was inclined to lay out during the race and raced wide without cover until weakening over the final 300m. A post race veterinary examination of Daytime Drama failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Near the 100m, Way Too Hot (M. Hellyer) was inconvenienced when tightened for room between Lass Ee (K. Ashton) and Heiress De Anabaa (K. Banks), which shifted out under pressure.
