WINNO'S WINNERS: DOOMBEN, NOVEMBER 17

By Darren Winningham | Thursday, November 15, 2018

The track is rated “SOFT” (Thursday afternoon) and the rail will be 4.5 metres out the entire course this weekend.

There is forecast for wet and warm weather over the coming days – I think the weather man is having a better each way bet than I have when I take $$ off book maker Con Searle.

A quick preview this week – it is a busy week!

NB: As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.

The Keith Noud Quality preview (race 8)

Great race this one.

I cannot go past Tyzone (3) from the Toby Edmonds team on the Gold Coast to be ridden by Ryan Maloney. His recent barrier trial win at the Gold Coast looked impressive.

Tony Gollan has several runners. Hi I’m Back (7) was a super run when resuming over 1050 metres. He normally is not a fan of the 1200 metres, however with some speed in this race and drawn nicely I expect him to be flashing home late.

Most Important (1) the topweight is a grand sprinter – he will love the speed in the race. Jim Byrne knows this horse so well and despite the weight I expect him to be in the finish when the judge calls a halt to the race.

I’m A Rippa (2) will speed along out in front from barrier 12. IF the track has a bias for leaders on the day – make sure you have something on this runner at the juicy odds of $10.

Bjorn Baker has sent Test The World (9) north to Brisbane and has engaged Jeff Lloyd to ride the mare. She looked like she needed the run first up at Randwick on a soft track over 1200 metres. Since then she has had an easy hit out in a barrier trial at my old stomping grounds at Gosford. She is drawn well and she could be a knock out chance.

Snoopy (6) is a Chris Munce runner who always performs well fresh. Last preparation I think he had some poor luck in several of his races. He could show up at odds with Ryan Wiggins in the saddle.

The Jenny Graham trained Victorem (10) went around in the Kosciuszko last start at Randwick on a bog track and was not disgraced. Ben Looker stays aboard here and has ridden him in all 8 career starts. He will love to see a dry track and speed on – I think he will be very competitive here from barrier 3.

Selections: Tyzone (3) from 10-9-1-6 rough chances 2 and 7
