THE BLUE ARMY TAKES OUT THE FILLIES EDITION OF THE BLUE DIAMOND PRELUDE

By Graham Potter | Saturday, February 6, 2021

The James Cummings trained Arcaded gave any Blue Diamond pretenders a warning of what they will up against when she took out the Fillies Division of the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield in impressive fashion, winning as she liked as she easily dispatched some fair opposition.

Four wide on the turn, jockey Damian Lane wasted little time in asking the daughter of Street Boss to assert her authority on straightening and it was ‘race over’ once Arcaded put her head in front inside the 300m mark.

Godolphin stable spokesman Sean Keogh was justifiably very happy with the win.

“Damian got a bit of rhythm and flow throughout the race with this filly, so he was able to unleash that punch that she has and she put them away in good style,” said Keogh.

‘That’s two starts, two wins now … and she has attacked the line like a really good filly.”

Damian Lane was similarly impressed.

“She improved a lot today,” said Lane. “That’s what you want to see from two-year-olds at this time of year. You want them to take another step forward and she certainly did that today.

“She is a very unassuming character. She is little. She just goes about her business but then, once the barriers open, she is all business.”
