FREEDMAN STABLE'S DECISION TO SEND DINADO TO BRISBANE PAYS DIVIDENDS

By Graham Potter | Saturday, March 6, 2021

The Richard and Michael Freedman stable sent Dinado north from their Sydney base to tackle a Class 6 Plate at Eagle Farm and the four-year-old mare came away with her third career victory.

The result might not have been surprising to many, but the starting price certainly was with Dinado coming back at $16 … this on the back of two runner-up finishes (at Wyong and Canterbury) … albeit in BM 64 and BM 72 company … in her previous three starts.

Dinado was always comfortable under a confident ride by Ben Thompson.

She tracked the early speed, settling in a cosy fourth placing down the back stretch. She then moved closer in the sweep to the turn and she wasted no time in making her challenge once the field had turned for home.

Champagne Artie ($9.50), who had set the early target, fought on, but Dinado gradually took her measure and she then had more than enough in hand to see off the late surge of Joymaker ($5.50) who was still 1.30 lengths adrift at the finish.
