THE CHRONICLE GIVES MADDY SEARS A VERY SPECIAL MENTION ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

By Graham Potter | Tuesday, March 8, 2022

On March 8, in recognition of International Women's Day, The Chronicle put out a list of twenty of the most influential women on the Darling Downs.

Included in that list, much to her own surprise, was the name of Maddy Sears.

The Chronicle’s tribute was short and to the point … but it did capture the essence of Maddy’s own development within her chosen profession and also both the example she sets for others and the opportunities she helps brings into play for young, female apprentices.

The piece in the Chronicle stated:

‘Maddy Sears (Racing)

‘Forming a partnership with her father Tony, Maddy is showing her skills as a horsewoman in her own right.

‘That combination makes her the leading female trainer from Toowoomba in the metropolitan premiership, empowering female apprentice riders on their mounts along the way.’

Simple recognition of hard work and of the positive results have been achieved is probably as satisfying, and arguably a more valued outcome than any other reward.

The Chronicle’s commentary honoured Maddy, the individual, but it was also a story which reflected so well on the Sears Racing brand.

Good on Maddy for doing what she is doing so well and good on the Sears family racing set-up for giving her the opportunity to shine so brightly at what she loves to do.
