REDWANA SCORES A TWELVE LENGTH DEBUT WIN

By Graham Potter | Tuesday, May 17, 2022

Another debut winner for the Tony and Maddysen Sears training partnership!

And what a debut it was.

The two-year-old chestnut Redwana only had two rivals to beat when he faced the starter in a QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap over 1225m at Toowoomba on May 17 … and the betting boards projected that it was actually only a two-horse race between Redwana ($1.66) and Slinky’s Star ($2.30). Just Say was the $15 rank outsider.

The implication on the betting boards was incorrect.

It was a one-horse race!

Redwana was smartly away under Isabella Rabjones and Rabjones was content to allow the son of Wandjina to only hold the lead by a lengthy in the early part.

In the middle of the sweep to the turn though, Redwana began to extend his advantage with absolute ease.
The lead was quickly up to five lengths approaching the home turn.

You could make that six on straightening and, from there, you can only call it a procession with the winning margin of twelve lengths telling the story.

Redwana's pre-race antics apart .. the win could not have been any easier.
