UNDER THE RADAR BUT FLYING HIGH

By Graham Potter | Saturday, October 15, 2022

William Kropp is quietly making his way in the training ranks.

While he still only has a few horses in training and flies very much under the radar, there can be no argument about the placement of his horses and the consistent level of the results he produces.

The Top Echelon mare Priti Piper again underlined that fact when she came out and made it back-to-back wins when scoring in a band 0-60 Handicap over 1200m at Stanthorpe on October 15.

Kropp has only had the five-year-old under his care for two starts.

Kropp’s smile will be twice as big with regard to Priti Piper’s run of success as, apart from his training duties, he is also the sole owner of the horse.

Kropp three stable runners … Priti Piper, I Promise you and Tequila Dancer have only had a combined total of thirteen starts in the last six-and-a-half months … but look just how well that shows up on the results board.

His results read … 1-0-1-1-0-3-3-2-1-3-1-2-1.

That has him running at a forty-six percent winning strike rate and an eighty-five percent place strike rate.

While these results are mostly from country racing venues, that does not detract in any way from the merit of his training performance.

With limited opportunities in town to date, Kropp does already have a city winner (I Promise You) to his name.

Small steps, maybe, but, fair to say, the young trainer is on his way!
