EAGLE FARM OUT OF PLAY FOR AUGUST. RESCHEDULED MEETINGS ANNOUNCED

With the Eagle Farm racetrack out of play in bizarre circumstances ... some horses are reportedly shying at a building construction site adjacent to the track ... all race meetings due to take place at the city track for the month of August have been rescheduled.

The Saturday meeting on August 3 moves to Doomben ... where five races will have a change of race distance from the original program.

The Saturday meeting on August 10 now moves to the Sunshine Coast.

The mid-week meeting on August 14 now moves to Ipswich ... where four races will have a change of race distance from the original program.

This particular Eagle Farm track matter came to a head at the July 20 meeting following a Robbie Dolan race-fall at the point of the track approaching the building site area which has been of a concern to jockeys for some time.

The last two races of that meeting were abandoned after jockeys declined to continue riding due to safety concerns.
