WINNO'S WINNERS: DOOMBEN, AUGUST 3, 2024
By Darren Winningham | Friday, August 2, 2024
DOOMBEN this week. Looks like we are calling this track home for a while, whilst they work on getting racing back at Eagle Farm. The track is rated “SOFT”. The rail is out 4.5 metres for the entire circuit. The weather is supposed to be warm and dry for the rest of the week.
The new racing season commences with the Metropolitan premiership winners from last season all putting in outstanding performances.
Trainers Premiership - Tony Gollan Jockeys Premiership - Jimmy Orman Apprentice Premiership - Cejay Graham
I would also like to highlight the effort of apprentice Jai Williams who won the Gold Coast Turf Club apprentice premiership and the senior jockey premiership with 39 winners. An outstanding effort.
Congratulations too to Adam Campton – the new kid on the block in the training ranks - winning the GCTC Trainer’s Premiership as well, clinching it with a colossal effort last weekend when training five winners at the final Gold Coast meeting of the season.
NB: As these selections were made prior to race-day, please check for any changes to track conditions and for any scratchings on the day.
