ADRIAN BOTT TALKS ABOUT ROYAL PATRONAGE, WHO HAS THE CHAMPIONS MILE IN HIS SIGHTS

WINNO:I’m talking to Adrian Bott, co-trainer of Royal Patronage who will contest the HK $24 million Champions Mile at Sha Tine on Sunday.
AB: “Yeah, very happy with the draw. I’m sure Tim Clark will be equally as happy. We wanted a nice, low barrier draw to make things a bit easier for us. Now that we’ve achieved that, it gives us some nice options.
WINNO: “Coming to Hong Kong for the first time. How are things going? How has Royal Patronage settled in?”
AB: “Yeah, it is exciting to be here. We’ve learnt plenty in the short period of time we have been here.
“The horse travelled well. He took a few days to adjust to the changes in the environment and the new routine for him. Was just a little bit unsettled initially, but I feel we have got him to settle into that routine now … and that he is happy and has adapted, particularly these last twenty-four to forty-eight hours, so hopefully we can a have a smooth run into the race now and that will give us every opportunity.”
