THE CALLOW NIGHTMARE RUN CONTINUES
By Graham Potter | Friday, October 3, 2025
It is a case of yet another problem for Noel Callow.
A three-month suspension for an altercation with a another jockey in the jockey’s room … then a ten month ban after being found guilty by stewards of making racially offensive comments on video (appeal dismissed) … then the emergence of another alleged offensive video for which Callow was called into an inquiry which was initially rescheduled … and now, yesterday, the news that Callow did not make an appearance, as he was instructed to do, at that rescheduled inquiry … and, on top of that, reportedly did not respond to any of the stewards efforts to contact him in the leadup to the inquiry.
It hasn’t been pretty, and the chances are it might get even uglier.
While no charges have been laid at this stage with respect to the latest video concern … that inquiry is obviously now still pending … Callow’s latest lack of compliance in terms of not attending the inquiry has led to another charge being levelled at him, on the basis of his non-attendance at the inquiry when obliged to do so.
Clearly, there is more to come on this.
For all concerned. not least the racing industry as a whole, it is a matter best resolved sooner rather than later.
