THE ARCHIBALD STABLE ARE AT IT AGAIN

By Graham Potter | Wednesday, December 17, 2025

The Annabel and Rob Archibald stable have served notice of their summer season intent in Queensland, much like they did during the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival back in May and June.

In the first four weeks of Queensland Winter Racing Carnival the Archibald stable scored a win in the Group 1 Doomben 10 000. Group 2 wins in both the Queensland Guineas and the Victory Stakes, a win in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas, and a win in the Listed Chief de Beers … and you can throw in a second place in the Group 1 Doomben Cup for good measure.

In the first three weeks of the Queensland Summer Racing Carnival, the Archibald team have taken out the Listed Tattersalls’ Classic with Midnight in Tokyo … and, last Saturday, they snared half of the feature races on offer at Eagle Farm, taking out the Listed Just Now with Midnight In Tokyo and … arguably, the most important race of the day … the $300 000 Gateway with Tuned, the race which gains the winner’s connections automatic entry with a runner into the $3 million Stradbroke, Queensland’s signature race.

Again, the Archibald team is shaking the tree in the Queensland sunshine and having success fall their way.

This Saturday they will have only one feature race runner in Queensland … the mare Coco Jamboo, who will contest the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes. The six-year-old daughter of Massaat would appear to have a bit of work to do in a competitive lineup but, whatever the outcome there, that Archibald stable notice of intent has been well and truly posted and punters would do well to take note of that message.
