JIMMY ORMAN IS GRANTED AN IMPORTANT RIDING LICENSE EXTENSION BY THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB

Jimmy Orman has been granted an extension of his riding licence by The Hong Kong Jockey Club for the period from 18 February 2026 up to the conclusion of the current 2025/26 racing season.

That is an enormous boost for the multiple Brisbane Jockey Premiership winner as he looks to further advance his career in Hong Kong.

As a relatively new rider on the Hong Kong scene, where it takes time to build contacts and secure quality rides that can give you momentum, Orman currently sits in eleventh place in the Jockey’s Premiership with twelve winners.

That leaves him just one win away from the thirteen wins he achieved the whole of last season in his rookie season in Hong Kong.

Away from Zac Purton (52 winners) and Hugh Bowman (24 winners), it is a fairly congested jockey ladder at this time with only four winners separating the nine jockeys from Vincent Ho, in fifth place with 15 winners, to Matthew Chadwick in thirteenth place with eleven winners.

Orman was the Queensland Champion Jockey in 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24.
