PLUNGER TAKES OUT FUTURE STARS SERIES FINAL

The Enver Jusufovic trained Plunger has emerged triumphant in the $250 000 Ladbrokes Future Stars Series final at Pakenham.
The very lightly raced four-year-old son of Ace High made it two wins from two starts when he outgunned the Cliff Brown trained Savoyard in the run to the line to score by 0.20 lengths under Lachlan Neindorf, who has been in the saddle in both of Plunger’s victories.
Plunger and Savoyard started as the second and third favourites in an open betting race at $4.40 and $5.50 respectively. Silver Bullet, who finished unplaced, jumped as the $3.90 favourite.
Plunger did not race as a two-year-old or a three-year-old. The gelding had one jump out in January 2025 … and then was not seen again until mid-December 2025 in another jump out which was the start of a concentrated effort, which included another three jump-outs in double quick time (he won two of them) to get Plunger ready for a taste of race action.
And ready he was when he finally stepped out, winning very comfortably … by a 2.25 length margin … on debut when taking out a Future Stars Series Heat over 1200m at Pakenham on February 12.
Now, two weeks later Plunger is an unbeaten back-to-back winner with his success in the Future Stars Series Final earning $137 500 in prize-money which has taken his career earnings to a more than healthy $173 250 from only two starts.
