FITNESS ISSUES: VET TO RE-ASSESS MILE CONTENDERS VOYAGE BUBBLE AND SUNLIGHT POWER ON THURSDAY

The Head of Veterinary Regulation, Welfare & Biosecurity Policy, Dr B Forbes, has reported the following conditions identified during routine pre-race veterinary inspections conducted this morning Tuesday, 21 April 2026, in respect to Voyage Bubble and Sunlight Power which are entered to race in the FWD Champions Mile 1600 Metres to be conducted at the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 26 April 2026.

Voyage Bubble was found to have developed a capped elbow in its left front leg.

Sunlight Power was found to have developed a capped elbow in its right front leg.

Dr Forbes advised that both horses are currently subject to veterinary management and will be monitored in the following days.

A further veterinary inspection will be undertaken of Voyage Bubble and Sunlight Power by a Veterinary Officer on the morning of Thursday, 23 April 2026 and Saturday, 25 April 2026 to determine their suitability to race.

Mr P F Yiu, trainer of both Voyage Bubble and Sunlight Power, stated that he is currently satisfied with level of fitness of both horses and has limited their training program whilst under veterinary management.

A further release shall be made following the veterinary inspection conducted on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
