ZAC PURTON'S CONFIDENT ASSESSMENT GIVES KA YING RISING'S RIVALS LITTLE CAUSE FOR COMFORT

Zac Purton latest assessment of Ka Ying Rising will hardly give any of the champion’s opponents any cause for comfort as the David Hayes trained runner looks to extend his magnificent, undefeated, record breaking run to twenty straight wins when he runs in the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize over 1200m at Sha Tin on Sunday.
“He doesn’t have to do anything he hasn’t been doing,” said Purton, talking to HRO’s Winno. “He’s just got to turn up and repeat the performances he’s been putting up … and there is no reason why he is not going to.
“He’s in good form. He looks good. He feels good.
‘Hopefully, we draw the right barrier … give him his chance and let him do his thing.
Purton also reflected on his achievements in Hong Kong, where he is now just twenty wins away from an incredible 2000 winners.
“It means a lot,” said Purton.
“It means I’ve been incredibly lucky here. I’ve received a lot of support. I’ve made the most of my opportunities. To put it in one word. I suppose it is satisfying.
“To work as hard as I have and to be here as long as I have … it is very hard to ride a single winner here in Hong Kong, let alone the amount that I have.
“I’ve got a lot of people to thank. It hasn’t been easy, but it feels like it has been worth it.”
