ZAC LLOYD SET TO GAIN OVERSEAS EXPERIENCE IN THE UK AND SOUTH AFRICA IN THE COMING MONTHS

By Graham Potter | Monday, April 27, 2026

Zac Lloyd has been given the opportunity to put one over his father Jeff, with the young rider being booked to ride one of top trainer Justin Snaith’s runners in this year’s Durban July, the biggest race in South Africa which will be contested on July 4.

Jeff Lloyd won so many big races during his illustrious career but came away winless after many, many attempts at the Durban July … and now Zac Lloyd will have the chance to put the Lloyd family name in the Durban July record books and, in a way, set the record straight.

The now multiple Group 1 winning rider will also be gaining more invaluable experience and exposure to international racing, as proudly announced by Jeff Lloyd through his Lloyd Racing Management Services platform where it was stated:

‘Excited to announce that Zac has been invited to ride in this year’s Durban July for leading South African trainer Justin Snaith. Zac will be heading over to the UK for a few weeks from the beginning of June to ride in Ascot week and spend a couple of weeks riding in the UK over the summer, before making his way to South Africa for the big race in July.’

It has always been about tracking strongly on the learning curve for Zac Lloyd and he will continue in that vein with this upcoming overseas adventure which, all being well, should see him return as an even better rider with that experience under his belt.
