Three-time British champion jockey Ryan Moore won the 24th World Super Jockeys Series at Tokyo Racecourse at the weekend, making an impressive mark ahead of his impending visit to Hong Kong, where he will compete in the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys Championship (CXIJC) on 8 December.
Hong Kong representative Matthew Chadwick finished 10th in the event.
In his third appearance in this international jockeys’ series, hosted by the Japan Racing Association, Moore made a great start when he partnered five-year-old Bokuno Taiyo to win the first leg - the 2010 Fantastic Jockeys Trophy.
Adding an 11th and 4th placings in the second and third legs, Moore accumulated a total of 33 points to edge Australian jockey Craig Williams (32 points) and Irish veteran Johnny Murtagh (30).
Chadwick scored a total of 15 points, ranking him 10th, with his best performance being the 5th place finish on Goldilock in the second leg – the 2010 Prominent Jockeys Trophy (2000m, turf).
Johnny Murtagh led the rest of next month's CXIJC participants by finishing third, followed by home jockey Hiroyuki Uchida (7th), and the French-based Christophe Soumillon (joint 8th) and Christophe Lemaire (joint 13th).
Another French jockey Maxime Guyon, who will be riding in Hong Kong from next week onwards, finished 11th in the series.
