By Graham Potter | Wednesday, October 10, 2012
Doomben, October 10, 2012. Track - Good 3; Rail - Out 8m. Class 3 Handicap (Fillies & Mares) - 1110m. 1 Dream'n'ignite; 2 Caribbea; 3 Not To Share; 4 Contessa Belle. Time: 1-03.96. Last 600: 33.71. Margins: 4.00; 0.20.
WINNER FEEDBACK: Trainer Desleigh Forster: “Too easy, mate.
“I’ve had it all this prep. It has shown us stacks at home. It gave us a good feel. We’ve worked it with another nice horse and she looked good.
“On the basis of that we thought it was probably a good thing today. She is everything right and she won as we expected she would.
“Yeah, we are travelling well. This keeps the strike rate up. We’ve had four winners from our last four runners. Four from four we’ve had!”
Jockey Jeff Lloyd: “That was an easy win. The trainer said her work was very nice at home …obviously she’s shown more than her Rockhampton form.
“She gave me a good ride. She had early pace and she let down really well … far too well for the opposition!”
STEWARDS REPORT EXTRACT: As P. Hammersley was to be overweight, J. Lloyd was substituted as the rider of Dream'n'ignite. P. Hammersley was fined $200.
Caribbea (R. Myers) was slow to begin.
Approaching and rounding the home turn Not To Share (C. Munce) was held up when unable to obtain clear running.
At the entrance to the straight Caribbea became awkward on the heels of Not To Share and then shifted to the inside of that runner in order to improve.
Near the 200m Caribbea obtained a narrow run between Feeling Naughty (T. Harrison) and Not To Share, which had been inclined to lay in when placed under pressure.
After passing the 100m Caribbea was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of C. Munce, the rider of Not To Share.
Also passing the 100m apprentice T. Harrison, the rider of Feeling Naughty, dropped her whip
Apprentice T. Harrison (Feeling Naughty) was reprimanded for failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race.
