Hope you struck the Doomben quadrella last Saturday. If you’d followed David Fowler’s selection you would have collected almost $5000 on Tattsbet! HRO’s resident form expert takes a look at today’s meeting at Eagle Farm.

Form assessed for perfect race surface. Slim chance of a shower or two.

RACE 1:

OCTANE FLYER (1) ran well first-up in a Gr.3 race at Warwick Farm so surely beats this much easier opposition. Goes forward from wide gate and races handy in a moderate tempo. Keen. NUDE SECRETS (3) is looking for this trip and the same could be said for NAVELINA (12) but are they in the same class? Rough chances 2 and 10.

RACE 2:

Never want to get too involved in these races but MUKADDAMAH SON (4) is down 3.5kg on latest GC win and D.Browne rides him well. NSW visitor FALKLANDS (5) has some country cup successes to his credit and is a go forward horse. Respect. COUNT ENCOSTA (2) rarely wins (3 from 41) but keeps running on and placing in these races. Rough chances 3 and 10.

RACE 3:

THE WHITE HOPE (3) is a fast horse and only beaten once in 5 runs. Likely winner but odds short enough from wide gate in a good class 6. KEEP IT MOIST (2) is good value in latest fixed odds markets and will run well 2nd-up. TIME TO PLUNDER( 6) will be the best run-on horse. Rough chances 1,5,9.

RACE 4:

Many chances. GATINEAU RIVER (6) is an above-average mare who gets a good run here from alley and 3kg claim is a big plus. Should be fool-proof each-way. BLACK MAGIC (5) will give them a start but a strong finisher. ALCANCIA (9) is another who finds her feet and hits line with purpose. Rough chances 1,2,4,10.

RACE 5:

I GET AROUND (3) is tipped to lead all way. Fast Sydney visitor with a healthy strike rate (4 from 8). EMMALENE (6) will be dangerous first-up. Trialled nicely, D.Browne booked and sound fresh. G'DAY OLD MATE (1) rarely runs a bad race under today's conditions. Rough chances 2,4,5,11.

RACE 6:

KING LUDWIG (13) should have won at GC rather than run 6th last start after being stopped in his tracks in the early part of the straight. Senior jockey and good gate are pluses. DIENEKES (3) will lead or be handy and is fitter after 2 runs back. LITTLE BROWN HORSE (6) gets a nice trip with D.Browne and will be competitive. Rough chances 10 and 15.

RACE 7:

Terrific race. STEEL ZIP (3) excels fresh and trialled well recently. Stewart rides him well. RIVER LAD (4) won well GC last start and should get a good run in transit here. Proved Gr3 winner track and trip. ADEBISI (1) leads for a long way but yet won EF 1200m and has 59.5kg. Rough chances 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14.

RACE 8:

SIR KNOX (6) is lightly raced and promising. Little luck latest Doomben 3rd but the step up to 1500m looks right and handily drawn. LITTLE LONG HORN (2) and HYPOTHESIS (5) come out of the same GC race and both ran well and should do so again. Rough chances 1,3,10,12.

BEST BET: OCTANE FLYER (Race 1)

BEST EACHWAY: KING LUDWIG (Race 6)

BEST ROUGHIE: METALLURGICAL (Race 7)

Quaddie: 1 3 6 / 3 6 10 13 / 1 3 4 5 10 12 / 2 3 5 6 10
