HRO’s resident form expert David Fowler takes a look at today’s meeting at Eagle Farm.

RACE 1:

Good depth to this race. TAIL AND ALL (6) went well first-up and gets good trip here. Slight edge over SKATING AWAY (7) who might get back a little further from the eight alley. EPIC (4) has had a month between runs but is versatile and in-form. Rough chances 1,2,3.

RACE 2:

EPIC TERRA (1) is up 2.5kg but is highly consistent and a certain leader. Back to 1400m a plus. CAELLUM (5) will race closer to pace than latest D'bn 2nd when ran on strongly. ALCANCIA (4) is racing well and will be well ridden. Rough chances 2,8

RACE 3:

Taking a slight gamble here going with first starter LOUISIANA ROUGE (12). Exceed And Excel filly who looked extra sharp in a trial win last November. Cahill gets off VIENNA QUEEN (7) to ride. LONDEHERO (2) has a wrap on him but will be giving them a start. OCTANE FLYER (1) is a top three chance. Rough chances 3,7

RACE 4:

Never keen on these races but little separates three promising four-year-olds and all are in form. Slight edge for DAZZLE US (7) over VOLKERE (9) and MARKOUT (8). Rough chances 2,3,4,10,12

RACE 5:

No horse going better than DISCREET (1) who is very well placed at the weights. Was run down over 1400m as a two-year-old but stronger now. OFFENSE (8) has drawn the rails gate and is big odds in fixed odds markets. Chased the promising Carmora two runs ago. CATALONIA (5) is a progressive filly who likes wet and finds the line. Rough chances 2,4,6,10,12,13,16,18

RACE 6:

TRANSPORTER (6) is a promising 5yo with 7 wins from 19 starts. Great acceleration in 6 length win last start and chances even better as track continues to dry out. MARGINS (13) is a promising 4yo but will be giving TRANSPORTER a start. GINGA DUDE (1) is a rising 10yo but won this race first-up last year and shouldn't be overlooked. Rough chances 3,4,8,10,11

RACE 7:

BETER THAN READY (1) has got plenty on these and a weighted certainty under the conditions. SHAMROCK SLIPPER (11) can provide the quinella result. Good fresh, rails alley and handles wet. THE CONSPIRATOR (8) has never run a bad race and has been supported at fixed odds. Rough chances 2,4

RACE 8:

Sydneysider FAMOUS SEAMUS (7) has a touch of class about him and will get a good trip here off a strong tempo. Hard to hold out with Colless a plus. SIGNIFIED (19) secures the box seat run from the rails gate and will be top three. RIVER LAD (2) keeps winning and must be considered again. Rough chances 6,9,11,18

RACE 9:

EMMALENE (6) had no luck in Sydney last Saturday after an easy first-up EF 1000m win. Can amend. FUNTANTES (1) should lead easily and will take catching against her own sex. ALLTHE RIGHTMOVES (4) can be hard to catch but looks competitive in this. Rough chances 2,3,5,13,14,15

BEST EACHWAY: FAMOUS SEAMUS (Race 8)

BEST ROUGHIE: OFFENSE (Race 5)
