HRO’s resident form expert David Fowler takes a look at today’s meeting at Eagle Farm

Form assessed to a good 3 surface with possibility of showers taken into account

RACE 1:

EXCELLANTES (1) flies 2nd-up (won 3 from 5) and can lead all way here with Colless in good form. MR FAVULOUS (7) is well weighted with a good gate so will be afforded all the favours. Definite top 3 hope. GRIFFON (4) set for this races and finishes hard. Rough chances 3, 10, 11.

RACE 2:

Very open. Why can't VO HEART (5) run well ? Good beginner who box seats here, past 2 runs sound, and handy value at $11 fixed. VILANOVA (4) now with Chris Waller and NZ form is OK. HOOKED (3) is 2 from 2 but has to go back from gate and back in distance. Slight risk. Rough chances 1, 2, 6, 7, 9, 12.

Race 3:replica watches

SHOW AFFECTION (8) is a good bet on both totes. Things went wrong at Doomben but gets smother here at suitable 1400m. The $6 fixed appeals. Stablemate HIDDEN KISSES (1) gets all the favours and will be in the finish. CUDDLESOME (6) has a tough draw but might go forward here. Rough chances 1 3, 4, 5, 9, 14.

Race 4:replica watches

VACALLO (10) hit line well in latest D'bn 2nd and has never gone better. The $10 fixed appeals. LESS IS MORE (4) will go back from the wide gate but expect a big finish. DUSTY GOLD (6) doesn't win out of turn but will find line here. Rough chances 3, 5, 7, 9, 12.

Race 5:

SURVIVED (7) is a winner (5 from 7) and has impressed me what I have seen of his NZ videos. Priced short enough but have to put him on top. USAINITY (3) is another Kiwi visitor who we saw win at R'wick and appeals as the hardest to beat. HONORIUS (1) has a difficult alley but is steadily building on form and looked good in the spring. Rough chances 2, 9, 13.

Race 6:

Hard to line up the Kiwi stayers against ours but happy to be with the local MARGINS (8). Won well last start and peaking at right time. Last year's Qld Oaks winner QUINTESSENTIAL (3) has a difficult draw but hasn't been disgraced since we saw her 12 months ago (winless, though). DOLLY DOLLY (11) caught the eye last start and better distance now. Rough chances 6, 7, 12, 14.

Race 7:

I think RAIN AFFAIR (2) can lead all way and getting out to generous odds at $5 fixed. BUFFERING (1) is natural danger. This pair will control tempo at controlled speed and it will be difficult for backmarkers to get them down, Good tip out of Sydney for YOUR SONG (8). Maybe not today at WFA but follow for Stradbroke. Rough chances 5, 7, 9, 10.

Race 8:

SOOKIE (16) is a smart filly who goes well fresh, races on pace and thrown in at 52.5 kg under set weight conditions. Keen. SOMEDAY (6) is smart but my speed map has him possibly in the wrong spot. MISHANI WARRIOR (12) is a good chance at $13 fixed. Rough chances 2, 9, 10, 14, 18.

BEST BET: SOOKIE (Race 8)

BEST EACHWAY: SHOW AFFFECTION (Race 3)

BEST ROUGHIE: VO HEART (Race 2)

QUADRELLA: 1, 3, 7, 9, 13 / 3, 6, 8, 11,14 / 1, 2 / 6, 12, 16
