Form assessed for slow 7 … how good or bad the track is will only be determined after watching the first race. Generally fine day predicted.

RACE 1:

L'ENTRECOTE (6) might be a progressive horse. Sunshine Coast win impressive and good money for him in various corporate agencies. SIR MOMENTS (1) is the benchmark but 11 alley has me concerned. CHOSEN IDOL (3) gets a good run but had his chance at Doomben. Rough chances 3, 5, 9.

RACE 2:

Even field but MARKOUT (11) is excellent value at $9 fixed. Consistent, likes wet and well weighted. Wet tracker SECRET GARDEN (8) is in the right race while last start Scone winner TRAJET (7) has to be included. Rough chances 1, 5, 13, 14.

RACE 3:

Cup of tea race for me. Tactics may decide winner. MORIARTY (4) is progressive and was very good in Rosehill win (sprinted quickly). Now at WFA but stable in red hot form. Not much between stable-mates MANIGHAR (1) and LIGHTS OF HEAVEN (5). Rough chance 6.

RACE 4:

HOUR OF PERIL (8) is excellent value at $9.5 fixed. Loves wet and back to handicap conditions now. Recent runs sound. FIRE UP FIFI (4) is deserved favourite and will be in top three but present price is short enough in my book. LISTEN SON (2) gets an easy lead but would be sharper on a firmer surface. Rough chances 5, 6, 7, 10.

RACE 5:

Hard race for opening quadrella leg. BOUND TO BLUSH (6) will either lead or box seat and is in-form so marking her on top. DETOURS (4) won Silk Stocking and will get all the favours again. DYSTOPIA (3) was plain at Hawkesbury but ridden colder will come with a good finish. Rough chances 2, 5, 9, 10, 11.

RACE 6:

PLATINUM KINGDOM (6) is my best bet of the day. Knows how to win (9 from 17), good wet or dry, and beat most of these a fortnight ago. Gets similar run from good gate. Keen. LILLIBURLERO (19) was excellent last start (trapped wide) and fitter now. BOBAN (11) had traffic problems last start and will be competitive. Rough chances 1, 3, 4, 9.

RACE 7:
GONDOKORO (4) should have won the Roses and gets the chance to turn the tables on DEAR DEMI (1) over the longer trip on the bigger track. JUST AS COSMIC (10) is light raced but looks a likely type for this trip. Rough chances 3, 6, 7, 8, 15, 17.

RACE 8:

Terrific betting race but staying with MAHISARA (9) who has run out of his skin at past two runs. Surely he doesn't have to use as much energy today from fairly handy gate. STARTSMEUP (5) is ready to run a race 3rd run back and MORNING CAPTAIN (10) has been "flying" and will be good odds. A race you to have go wide in. Rough chances 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 14, 16.

BEST BET: PLATINUM KINGDOM (Race 6)

BEST EACHWAY: HOUR OF PERIL (Race 4)

BEST ROUGHIE: JUST AS COSMIC ( Race 7)

QUADRELLA: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11 / 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 19 / 1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 15, 17 / 5, 9, 10, 16
