Form assessed for a heavy 8 … slim chance of an upgrade.

RACE 1:

ALCANCIA (4) suited by heavy track and small field. Rock hard fit and keeps running good races. VINTAGE MOSS (1) couldn't feature off outside gate in Lightning but this is far more suitable assignment. BRIBIE (2) keeps running well. Rough chances 5 and 7.

RACE 2:

Most even race of day and likely to be $5 the field. VENTURE ON (6) wasn't far away latest EF 10th (2.7l) and gets good run here. Both totes. MASSURI (13) is a good wet tracker and never gone better while VIKING HEART (12) found it too wet last start and pay to forgive. Rough chances 1,3,5,9 and 10.

RACE 3:

Hard to go past favourite DISCREET (2). In-form, handles wet and small field assists her racing pattern. Bet with confidence. AVALADYLUCK (11) did well to win first-up on testing EF heavy but that was midweek grade. GENERAL EXHIBIT (1) will be on place and placed EF heavy. Rarely puts in a bad one. Rough chances 4 and 6.

RACE 4:

ARCHITECT (2) flew home to win Ipswich last Saturday and loves the wet. Shouldn't miss backing both totes. ENQUARE (9) is proven in heavy and racing well. Deserved favourite. OCTANE FLYER (1) is the other logical hope. Excellent run in J.J.Atkins Rough chances 3,6,8 and 11.

RACE FIVE:

FIRE UP FIFI (3) doesn't know how to run a bad race and easy to understand why she's my top pick. SOMEDAY (14) won't get as far back as last start when flew for 2nd. Cahill replaces Munce. CONSERVATORIUM (1) will get a cushy run in or near lead but 1600m and wet track? Flying though. Rough chances 6,7,9 and 12.

RACE SIX:

ROTHERA (2) is a superior wet tracker yet his last run in Brisbane Cup on dry was sound. IBICENCO (1) ready now 3rd-up and has class edge on these. SHENZOU STEEDS (7) might improve on wet. Rough chances 4,5,8 and 9.

RACE SEVEN:

Looking to class here with STREAMA (1) and RED TRACER (3) both good in wet and CV's speak for themselves. SKYERUSH (4) also has good form and handles wet. Rough chances 2,5,8,10, 13 and 16.

RACE EIGHT:

HOWMUCHDOYOULOVEME (1) leads all way. Good bet. GRIFFON (8) is flying and will run home hard for quinella result. SKYTRAIN (2) has won 5 on heavy and will be competitive. Rough chances 3,6 and 12

BEST BET: HOWMUCHDOYOULOVEME (race 8)

BEAT EACHWAY: ARCHITECT (Race 4)

BEST ROUGHIE: RISK AVERSION (Race 7)

QUADRELLA: 1,3,14 / 1,2,4,5,7,8,9 / 1,3,4,13 / 1,8
