Form assessed for a slow 6. Upgrade???

RACE 1:

Typical stayers but BOREHOLE (1) is in-form and will run the 2400m. Some of his rivals might be suspect at the extra 200m. PIRATE BAY (3) appeals as the hardest to beat while POSTE RESTANTE (4) should finish top 3. Rough chances 2 and 5.

RACE 2:

Couldn't back PINCH RIVER (1) at the shorts because it scrambled home in slow time on debut but first starters who have trialled haven't excited me. So keep watch on the two debutantes who haven't trialled KASHBAK (6) and THAT PRETTY GIRL (8). Market watch all morning!

RACE 3:

LA TIKKA ROSA (3) is in peak form. Likes to settle early and come with a strong finish. Hard to tip against on impressive EF 1200m win 2 weeks ago. GOLDEN TRINKETS (2) is a fast mare and in-form. Represents value. NUPTSE (1) is first-up but has a class edge on most of these. Rough chances 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10.

RACE 4:

CLEVER HANS (1) is a tough NSW campaigner who will get every chance off the rails gate. Backs-up after solid 3rd EF 1600m last Saturday. DANYME (4) has the best form in the race and goes forward but been a runner-up on 10 occasions! DIENEKES (2) was tough in 1st-up win and goes well again. Rough chances 5, 6, 7.

RACE 5:

GOLD CAPE (4) is a good gamble each-way in an open race. Particularly good effort in Sunny Coast win after some handy EF runs. PLAYACTION (2) has the right form but will be hoping track dries out. A TAD APART (7) is up in class but down in weight. Rough chances 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 12. Go wide in quadrella!

RACE 6:

Very hard race with so many resuming. DALTON (1) was impressive 1st-up D'bn 1000m and drops 3kg now. Can win again. NEUSCHWANSTEIN (5) is first-up but impressive D'bn triallist and rails alley is a plus. VIENNA QUEEN (9) is a speedy filly, first-up, but gets a good run. Rough chances 2, 3, 4, 8 and 12. Go wide in quadrella!

RACE 7:

THEFT (7) is honest and secures an easy lead. Will take plenty of catching. ESSINGTON (8) hasn't won since July'11 but ran well at 1200m here last Sat so 1400m suits better. POOR JUDGE (3) went well 1st-up then ordinarily 2nd-up. Worth another chance. Rough chances 2, 9, 12 and 13.

RACE 8:

ROCK ACADEMY (13) can be had to catch but is extra smart on his day. Let's hope he puts his best foot forward. DIVINE CITY (3) is generally an honest mare and gives her all. HAMPDEN (2) did well latest EF 1200m win and will take catching again. Rough chances 1 and 4.

BEST BET: CLEVER HANS (Race 4).

BEST EACHWAY: GOLD CAPE (Race 5).

BEST ROUGHIE: SECRET GARDEN (Race 8).

QUADRELLA: 2, 4, 6, 7, 12 / 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12 / 2, 3, 7, 8, 12 / 1, 2, 3, 4, 13.
