RACE 1:

ELITIST (7) looked good in D'bn trial win, carrying heavy shoes and running time. In good stable and plenty of betting confidence in fixed odd trading. SLEEP TIGHT (11) was nearly as good as Elitist in the trial and might provide the quinella. RUBY SOHO (10) has race experience and found line well in D'bn debut 3rd. Rough chances 2, 5, 8 and 12.

RACE 2:

Typically difficult staying racing. TRAJET (4) found the 2800m too far at Flemington but assess on previous 2 Brisbane runs. Cahill booking a plus. MALING (1) was sore last run but previous staying form is a better indication and SOUL CRUSADE (7) is mixing his distances well. Rough chances 2, 3, 6, 8 and 10.

RACE 3:

MISS LEIBERT (3) has never raced better and gets a perfect trip from barrier one. Looks fool-proof each-way. SOME CALL HER WILD (7) is up in class but is 2 from 2 and will be suited by the 1400m. CHEZZAS TREASURE (8) is an on-pacer and is in form. Rough chances 1, 2, 4, 6, 9 and 10.

RACE 4:

SHIRAZ ATTACK (5) is a progressive filly who should keep getting better as she extends in distance. Beat a similar line-up this track a fortnight ago and 2kg weight rise should not pose a problem. FRIENDLY DRAGON (1) can provide the quinella result again, in-form. FLAMBOYER (2) should set up the lead and is honest. Must for multiples. Rough chances 7, 9, and 11.

RACE 5:

Stack of speed here and tipping a roughie JUNGLE HEAT (9) who seems to go best these days fresh and over short trips. One alley helps. GOLDEN TRINKETS (5) thrashed them this track and trip last Saturday and can measure up again while SEEK AND FIND (1) is 1st-up but will secure a good run. Rough chances 2, 3 and 8.

RACE 6:

HORA SEXTA (9) is lightly-raced but promising. Had good GC form before. Past 2 city runs sound. Suited by genuine tempo here. CRACCO (5) will get the run of the race and probably needed run a fortnight ago. Down in class as well. WRITTEN ABOVE ALL (3) has to be ridden cold but when he does has a big finish. Rough chances 1, 8 and 13.

RACE 7:
BETTER THAN READY (1) is a better horse than these and lump the 60.5kg with distinction. Brilliant 1st-up a fortnight ago. MORNING CAPTAIN (2) will race on pace and is very honest. Expect leader AUDACIOUS SPIRIT (7) to go better 2nd-up. Needed run 1st-up and trialled well since. Rough chances 5, 6, 8 and 15.

RACE 8:

Strong Class 6 but CASINO CARD (8) was very good during winter and goes well fresh. Appeals each-way. LUCKY SOUND (2) is good 2nd-up and will have this race won somewhere in straight. THE WHITE HOPE (7) has always had a boom on him. Needed recent trial and should be in the finish. Rough chances 1, 4, 5, 9, 10, 13 and 15.

BEST BET: BETTER THAN READY.

BEST EACHWAY: MISS LEIBERT.

BEST ROUGHIE: JUNGLE HEAT.
