Form assessed for a dead 4 with a likely upgrade to a good 3 (perfect surface).

RACE 1:

Typically wide open MM maiden to kick-start the day. The $19 fixed WENTWELL (2) appeals to me. Two good runs this time in and blinkers on today. Finds the line. SNIPPETS LAND (7) went well on debut Gosford 3rd and blinkers today. ANYMORE (3) is a real roughie with a knockout chance. Good finisher. Rough chances 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 14.

RACE 2:

BLACK JET (8) is one of the better bets of the day. Progressive type who is a strong finisher. Even though this is a feature, it's not a hard race to win. The $5 fixed looks right. KAYPERS (4) was solid latest Canterbury 2nd and is well up to this. Save on him. HI SON (10) was ridden poorly last Saturday but M.Cahill takes over now. Rough chances 2, 3, 7 and 9.

RACE 3:

Not many winning chances. I wish DIVINE CITY (2) had a slightly better alley but if Munce can slot her in, she will be hard to hold out. Was airborn latest D'bn win. DRIEFONTEIN (1) has earned her big weight and will look the winner for the major part of the straight. ANNA LIZZIE (3) needs a strong tempo but she will finish well whatever happens. Rough chances 5 and 10.

RACE 4:

WHITTINGTON (8) is a lightly-raced 3yo from the Waterhouse stable who is 1st-up but should secure a good run. Impressive triallist at Randwick recently. HIDDEN WARRIOR (1) should also get a good run and will be very competitive in this. EMMALENE (6) is good fresh and won 1st-up last campaign, Watch. Rough chances 4, 9 and 11.

RACE 5:

ENQUARE (12) is the best bet of the day. Flying at the moment, winning past 3 and versatile. Barrier is a huge plus and jockey riding in great form. I believe the $4.5 fixed is good value. TINTO (16) is a terrific roughie. Looking for 1400m and alley helps. SWEET IDEA (10) will lead these but has to be considered a little suspect at 1400m. Rough chances 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 14 and 15.

RACE 6:

I am selecting RUBY SOHO (15) at $19 fixed. Done nothing wrong in her career and from the good alley with M.Rodd, she has enough tactical speed to be handy enough and strong at the finish which many of these might not. INVISIBLE (7) is with an in-form stable and should take improvement from Canterbury win. UNENCUMBERED (1) can't be faulted. Worthy favourite. Rough chances 4, 8, 10, 12 and 13.

RACE 7:

CLUB COMMAND (3) is $9 fixed but as much as $18 was offered. Extra smart Victorian who has trialled twice this way of going in Sydney in preparation for this. Good fresh and appreciates a fast tempo. STARTSMEUP (1) doesn't win out of turn but will finish hard on his hometrack. DOUBTFILLY (7) ran a huge 3rd at Doomben last start and is a knockout hope. Rough chances 2, 6, 8, 11 and 13.

RACE 8:

Two horse race. TARGET IN SIGHT (6) is an on-pacer and drops 3kg on latest Randwick win. Might just have the edge on GUNDY SPIRIT (11) who has had the red light flashing after his past two strong finishing runs. COMMANDARE (2) is 1st-up but won't mind some cushion in the track. Rough chances 3, 4 and 7.

BEST EACHWAY; BLACK JET

BEST ROUGHIE: RUBY SOHO

QUADRELLA: 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 / 1, 4, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17 / 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 / 2, 6, 11.
