Form assessed for a good 3.

RACE 1:

Principally two chances, the in-form NO PROBLEM (1) chasing a hat-trick and the first starter LOOKS LIKE THE CAT (3) who has trialled well twice. Slight nod to "The Cat". VINTAGE BON (8) ran well on debut at S/Coast and 1200m suits better. Rough chances 4, 5 and 9.

RACE 2:

I'm happy to half risk favourite ANNA LIZZIE with hoof pads on first time and rising in class. I expect it to drift in price at the fixed odds. FLYING HOME (1) was solid 2nd-up at Caloundra and looks hard to beat with rails alley and Munce who knows horse well. RENEWED VITALITY (4) doesn't win a lot and only just got home at Doomben but is in form. ANNA LIZZIE (7) is in for third. Rough chances 2, 3 and 5.

RACE 3:

Typical no metro win but nine-times winner FLORIDA FELLOW (1) is well placed with claim (2kg over limit) and is in good form this campaign. Races on pace and $9 fixed is excellent value. ADORABUBBLE (7) has only been beaten once in 5 runs and generally runs time while BANCHORY LASS (11) will hit the line well. Rough chances 3, 5, 6, 8 and 16.

RACE 4:

Hard to go past ROCKY KING (2) particularly because he flies at this track and trip (5 from 9) and the one alley is a huge plus being able to repel the speed on his outside. LIGHTFEET LADY (13) is a lightweight chance at excellent odds. Good fresh and secures cosy trip. TRAIL BOSS (4) can find the line at handy odds as well. Rough chances 5, 6, 8 and 9.

RACE 5:

Tough start to quadrella but SENTA DESERT (5) comes from Sydney with solid staying form and doesn't strike a strong lot here. WALHAAN (6) was solid at track and trip a fortnight ago and should be more experienced now. VALERIE D'AMOUR (11) was 4th in that race and should also take benefit from its first middle distance assignment. Rough chances 3, 4, 7, 10 and 14.

RACE 6:

While the chief form-line here is the HOT SAGA race a fortnight ago, I'm looking outside the square and coming up with CASARATI (11) who was an eye-catching 4th at GC 5 weeks ago and now goes to the mile but can roll forward and be in front of several of its rivals. Excellent value at $21 fixed. HOT SAGA (1) beat several of these 2 weeks ago and must rate again while SEA RED (8) is worth another chance on her latest 7th. Maybe. Rough chances 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 13.

RACE 7:

Hardest race of the day yet JOPA (4) is in career-best form and appeals around $10 each-way at fixed odds. Might roll forward in a race devoid of high speed. KEEP IT MOIST (7) was solid in D'bn 4th last Saturday and has won EF 1400m. Should race handy. MISS LEIBERT (9) gets a good run in this and rarely runs a bad race. Rough chances 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 14.

RACE 8:

Surely AVALADYLUCK (4) can return to the city winner’s list. Going really well this campaign and finds its easiest race in sometime. Keep in mind though she will be giving them a start. LITTLE LONG HORN (7) is first-up with no trial but overall form is as good as many of these. TRAGEDY (14) is a value chance. Rough chances 11 and 13.

BEST BET: ROCKY KING.

BEST EACHWAY: FLYING HOME.

BEST ROUGHIE: CASARATI.

QUADRELLA: 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 / 1, 2, 5, 8, 11, 13 / 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 / 4, 7, 14.
