Hilton concurred with jockey Browne's assessment and added that EXOTIC SEQUEL, which was first up today after a spell, had not barrier trialled leading into today's event and would take a fitness benefit from the race. (Race 4).
After being boxed, SIERRA RAPID (T. Harrison) got its off hind leg up on the partition. SIERRA RAPID was removed from the stalls, examined and passed fit to start. (Race 5). *SIERRA RAPID finished last.
Near the 1000m, when being steadied to allow HEART OF MANY (C. Munce) to cross, TREASURE MAP (T. Harrison) got its head up and raced keenly for a short distance. CAPTAIN FASTBUCK (B. El-Issa), which was following, was then awkward on the heels of TREASURE MAP and had to be shifted out. Apprentice T. Harrison, rider of TREASURE MAP, stated that she was able to allow the eventual winner to cross in the early stages, which allowed her to race with cover. She said however, although racing in a forward position, the gelding never seemed to handle today's track conditions. Apprentice Harrison added that rounding the turn the horse dipped and then in the straight when placed under pressure it failed to respond. (Race 6).
I GOTTA FEELING was very fractious in the parade ring and made contact with the rail on a number of occasions. After arriving at the start, I GOTTA FEELING was found to have sustained a laceration under the jaw. Acting on veterinary advised, I GOTTA FEELING was withdrawn. (Race 7).

Shortly after the start HELAROCITY (B. Stewart) commenced to lay inwards, taking CRAIGLEA BROOKE inwards. Near the 900 metres, HELAROCITY continued to lay in and LITTLE WHITE DOVE (C. McIver) was placed in restricted room, become unbalanced, eased and lost some ground. HELAROCITY continued to lay in for the majority of the straight, and near the 400 metres brushed the running rail on a number of occasions. Trainer J. McConachy was advised that a warning will be placed on the racing manners of HELAROCITY. Mr McConachy informed stewards that he may add blinkers to the gelding's approved gear for its next start. (Race 1).
Jockey B. Stewart was reprimanded under A.R.137A (5)(a)(ii) for using his whip in a forehand manner on HELAROCITY on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100 metres. In assessing penalty stewards took into account the racing manners of HELAROCITY. When questioned regarding his unusual whip action Jockey Stewart stated that he had used the whip on the horse's shoulder and that he was not proficient using the whip in his right hand. (Race 1).
When questioned regarding his riding tactics on LINDLEY'S LASS, Jockey A. Coome stated that he was instructed to take up a position midfield, however from the inside barrier and after beginning well, he was able to lead. Jockey Coome said that the performance was disappointing and that being forced to lead had been detrimental to the performance of the mare today. Jockey Coome added that LINDLEY'S LASS will be better suited when ridden back in the field and that the trainer had indicated that he would remove the blinkers from the horse's approved gear for its next start. (Race 2).
Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey C. Whiteley as to his riding of PAYTEEVEE over the concluding stages. Jockey Whiteley stated that the gelding had been disappointing this preparation in comparison to its previous preparation. Jockey Whiteley said that he took up a position at the rear of the field and on straightening allowed the gelding to improve of its own accord. Jockey Whiteley added that he had a tighter hold on PAYTEEVEE, given the horse's habit of hanging in. He noted that he was disappointed with today's run as the horse had on found the line fairly over the concluding stages. (Race 3).
When asked as to the improved performance of YOU DONE IT AGAIN, trainer C. Garland stated that at its first start since a spell the horse had failed to race competitively after travelling. Mr Garland said that at its previous start the instructions to the rider were to lead, however the mare raced back in the field. Today his instructions were to take up a position off the pace. Mr Garland advised stewards there were was no support from the stable today. (Race 5).
Near the 900 metres Jockey D. Simmons, the rider of RAHULA, lost his offside iron and the saddle shifted to the nearside, requiring him to remove his foot out from the nearside iron. (Race 7).
FROM DOOMBEN (MARCH 8):
Apprentice G. Goold (NO PROBLEM) was fined $300 for using the whip more than 5 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m. (Race 1).
When asked to explain the disappointing performance of MAC'S ADDICTION, apprentice A. Allen stated that the gelding over-raced in the early and middle stages and then failed to finish off as expected when placed under pressure and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of MAC'S ADDICTION revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. (Race 2).
C. Munce, the rider of SPARKLING SOUND, reported to stewards that his mount was reluctant to stretch out and did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of SPARKLING SOUND revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery and to be striding slightly short in front. A swab sample was taken from SPARKLING SOUND. (Race 2).
When questioned regarding the improved performance of KISS ME DEADLY, trainer M. Kropp explained that at the Gold Coast at its previous run last Saturday, the gelding was forced to race wide from the 800m and had finished less than 2 lengths from the winner and previous to that it struck interference in Toowoomba and in his opinion the gelding was more suited to today's track conditions. (Race 2).
T. Bell could offer no real explanation for the disappointing performance of SMILES FOR LAYLA. A post-race veterinary examination of SMILES FOR LAYLA revealed the mare to have lacerations to both hind pasterns. (Race 4).
A post-race veterinary examination of MOCK ME NOT (P. Schmidt) revealed that the mare was sore over the hind quarters. (Race 4).
After leaving the 600m HEZA BOBBY DAZZLER (K. Matheson) shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in PANDORA CHARM (R. Ride) having to be checked. IRON JACKET, which was following, had to be checked to avoid the heels of PANDORA CHARM and shifted out and made contact with JET DOWN ON IT. THIS IS WAR, which was racing to the outside of IRON JACKET, was forced to race wider and then approaching the home turn was held up for clear running. (Race 5). *HEZA BOBBY DAZZLER won the race.
The start of this race was delayed to enable PARTY SPIN (A. Allen) to receive farrier attention. PARTY SPIN stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. (Race 6).

Apprentice McKenzie (JUST A PERLA) dropped his whip near the 200m. (Race 8).
FROM GOLD COAST (MARCH 8):
A Pattillo reported that when he placed RAHEEBS KINGDOM under pressure in the straight the horse was reluctant to stretch out. A post race veterinary examination of RAHEEBS KINGDOM failed to reveal any abnormality. Following the running of this event A. Pattillo was stood down by the Club's Doctor. (Race 2).
When questioned as to the improved performance of KAWANA KAOS stable representative Mr A Foley reported that at its previous starts the gelding had over-raced badly, which was a telling factor on the horse's performance. Mr Pholi added that with the removal of blinkers today KAWANA KAOS settled and raced more kindly and as a result was able to finish the race off nicely. Stewards noted the explanation. (Race 4). KAWANA KAOS won the race at a starting price of $26.
Near the 100m App T. Wolfgram the rider of RUN FOR EVER dropped his whip. (Race 5).
When questioned, App C. Schmidt, the rider of KING'S ROMANCE explained that her instructions were to be in a midfield position with cover. App Schmidt stated that from the wide gate she began well and immediately endeavoured to follow her instructions however, she was concerned whilst restraining her mount that she may have been left racing three wide without cover. Because of this App Schmidt decided to restrain further to obtain a position behind CAZNOT however KING'S ROMANCE then dropped the bit and lost more ground than she would have liked, resulting in HEY FRISCO being able to obtain a position in front of her, resulting in her racing in a rearward position. App Schmidt added that KING'S ROMANCE then did not travel kindly in the run however when placed under pressure rounding the turn it responded finishing the race off nicely although inside the final 200m she had some difficulty obtaining clear running and had to shift in as a result.
Trainer T. Bailey confirmed the instructions however upon reviewing the replay he was surprised the horse had raced as far back as it had and agreed that App Schmidt may have erred in the early stages by not maintaining her racing position behind CAZNOT. Mr Bailey added that the horse had raced earlier in the week and for this reason he removed the blinkers for today's run. App Schmidt was advised that her riding in the early stages had come under notice and stewards were of the view that the decision she took in the early stages was not the best one available to her at that time. (Race 5).
After being boxed MISS FIFI became very fractious, reared and then got down under the barrier partition. Whilst on the ground MISS FIFI lashed out kicking A GRADE STUDENT which was drawn alongside. Both MISS FIFI and A GRADE STUDENT were subsequently withdrawn by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5.20 p.m. Whilst being released MISS FIFI broke free from the attendants and galloped a considerable distance. As a result of this incident the start was delayed. Trainer J. Morrisey was advised that as MISS FIFI has a bad record in relation to its barriers manners it would be required to perform consecutively in two official barrier trials before being permitted to race again. (Race 8).
A post race veterinary examination of MISS FIFI revealed the mare to have sustained deep lacerations to it’s off hind cannon and hock and was transported to the veterinary hospital for further treatment. A post race veterinary examination of A GRADE STUDENT, which was drawn alongside MISS FIFI, revealed the gelding to have sustained laceration to all 4 legs.(Race 8).
FROM TOOWOOMBA (MARCH 8):
Stewards questioned jockey N. Tomizawa and stable representative Miss M. Sharpe in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of KINGTANTES. Jockey Tomizawa advised that his instructions were to have the horse race where comfortable, however to ride the gelding as quietly as possible during the early and middle stages to allow it to finish the race off to the best of its ability. Jockey Tomizawa further added that whilst the gelding raced greenly throughout the event, it did travel comfortably but when placed under pressure to improve into the race it failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Jockey Tomizawa further advised that, in his opinion, KINGTANTES would be better suited racing on a bigger track than the Toowoomba circuit.
Miss Sharpe also expressed somewhat disappointment with the performance of the gelding, however added that the gelding was having only its 5th start today and had raced greenly throughout the race. Miss Sharp also agreed with jockey Tomizawa's view that the gelding may be better suited racing on a bigger track than Toowoomba. A post race veterinary examination of KINGTANTES revealed a thickening on the inside of the lower half of the off fore cannon bone, which was considered to be significant by the veterinary surgeon. In the circumstances, Miss Sharpe was advised by stewards that Mr Heathcote would be required to obtain a veterinary clearance for KINGTANTES prior to its next race start. (Race 1).
Stewards questioned B. Evans regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of DOUBTFUL PRINCE. Jockey Evans advised that he was able to obtain a forward position just off the pace in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure from the 600m, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved very disappointing despite meeting with interference near the 150m. Stewards will contact trainer S. Ryan in relation to the gelding's performance tonight. (Race 2).
Stewards questioned jockey S. Bogenhuber and stable foreman Mr D. Joyce in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of ZODIAC. Jockey Bogenhuber advised stewards that after being slow to begin the gelding was forced to settle further back in the field than she had anticipated. Jockey Bogenhuber further advised that in the early stages of the event she considered shifting wider on the track to improve into a forward position, however as there were a number of horses forward and to the outside of her at that point of the race she was unable to do so and as a result was forced to maintain her current position. Jockey Bogenhuber added that the gelding travelled reasonably during the middle stages of the event, however when placed under pressure the gelding failed to run on as she had expected and proved disappointing.
Mr Joyce expressed disappointment with the manner in which jockey Bogenhuber rode ZODIAC out of the barriers and in the early stages, which he felt resulted in the gelding being forced to race further back in the field than its normal racing pattern. Mr Joyce further advised that, in his opinion, ZODIAC is a very one-paced horse and as a result when unable to obtain a forward position in its races generally races poorly and therefore given its position in running tonight was not entirely surprised to see the horse perform disappointingly.
Stewards in reviewing the patrol films of the start of the event found that ZODIAC threw its head in the air at the start and as a result lost some ground. Stewards further found that in the early stages of the event jockey Bogenhuber was forced to ease ZODIAC to avoid the heels of LAAGAWN (W. O'Connell) after being taken out by LAURA'S REIGN (B. Stower). Stewards therefore, on the evidence presented tonight, could find no impropriety in the riding of jockey Bogenhuber in the early stages and, in the circumstances, there was little more she could have done to have ZODIAC positioned in a more forward position. A post race veterinary examination of ZODIAC failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. (Race 4).
FROM DALBY (MARCH 8):
Near the 150m Q. Krogh the rider of VINTAGE FLINT dropped his off side rein resulting in that runner shifting out abruptly and becoming unbalanced and losing momentum before being corrected a short distance later. (Race 1).
On return to scale, J. Baker the rider of fourth placed CURRAWEE LASS, dismounted and collapsed with exhaustion. As J. Baker was unable to weigh in, Stewards under the provisions of AR142 were satisfied that CURRAWEE LASS had carried its correct weight and therefore gave correct weight on the Judges semaphored numbers. After being attended to by Ambulance officers, J. Baker was transported to Hospital for further observation. (Race 3).
Stewards were contacted by the Photo finish operator whilst the runners were being loaded for this race to advise that due to an equipment malfunction, the photo finish image would not be available for this race. Subsequent to this race, the fault was rectified and the equipment was operational for the remainder of the meeting. The declaration of correct weight was delayed, when the connections of STATUE BRO, placed fifth, lodged an objection against the judges placing's on the belief that STATUE BRO had run fourth. After taking evidence from trainer D. Wilson, jockey A. Badger, the judge and viewing the stewards patrol footage, stewards were satisfied with the judge's decision and therefore under the provisions of AR156 correct weight was given. (Race 4).
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons for DELUSIVE being checked inside the 100m. (Race 4).
TOUGH TAIMZ (B. Evans) was checked approaching and passing the winning post when racing to the inside of MR THATCHER. Stewards will inquire into the circumstances at a later time and date. (Race 5).
Stewards questioned apprentice H. Phillips regarding the tactics she adopted on MR THATCHER and the overall performance of that gelding. Of concern to stewards was the pace that apprentice Phillips set whilst leading in the early and middle stages. She stated that her instructions were to go forward and lead on the horse and not to restrain her mount as MR THATCHER is a free running horse. She added that after obtaining the lead she attempted to settle the horse near the 800m however her mount was travelling comfortably at that stage.
Trainer T. Dougall confirmed the instructions adding that MR THATCHER'S racing pattern is to be forward and leading and that if restrained the horse can get out of rhythm and not perform to its potential. Mr Dougall further expressed his satisfaction with the way in which apprentice Phillips had ridden MR THATCHER. Stewards in acknowledging the riding instructions given to H. Phillips and her inexperience having only recently obtained her licence to ride in races, noted the explanations, however advised her to ride so as not to leave herself open to question. (Race 5). *MR THATCHER finished unplaced.
Stewards intend to question jockey N. Evans regarding his riding of DR BARNARD in the home straight. (Race 5).
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to consider an application by connections that TROPHY HEAD be declared a non-runner on the basis that it had been denied a fair start. After viewing the patrol footage and taking evidence from trainers representative Ms K. Gardner, rider D. McIntosh and the starter, Stewards found that while the left barrier gate did rebound when opened, TROPHY HEAD had full opportunity to jump with the field and therefore declared the gelding to be a runner and correct weight was declared on the Judge's placing's. TROPHY HEAD began awkwardly, threw its head in the air and lost ground. (Race 6). *TROPHY HEAD finished fourth, beaten 0.40 lengths by the third placed runner.
SUPERCHEAP (J. Kehoe) raced ungenerously when being restrained approaching the winning post on the first occasion. SUPERCHEAP hung out leaving the home straight and continued to over-race for a short distance. SUPERCHEAP hung out from near the 500m until entering the home straight. J. Kehoe reported that SUPERCHEAP was inclined to hang out throughout the race. Stewards opened an inquiry into jockey J. Kehoe's riding of SUPERCHEAP over the final 100m. After taking evidence from J. Kehoe, the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed. (Race 6).
FROM CAIRNS (MARCH 8):
DAZZLE ON (F. Edwards) bumped the front gate as it was loaded into the barrier and the gate opened prematurely. Jockey F. Edwards was dislodged as the horse left the barrier. DAZZLE ON was scratched (Race 1).
FROM GLADSTON (MARCH 8):
In regard to the performance of SLIM HENRY, Jockey D Peisley stated the gelding had begun well and travelled fairly throughout, however showed no early speed and raced at the rear of the field. He further stated that when placed behind other runners, the gelding resented the sand kick back and he had placed the horse under some pressure in the straight. (Race 2).
As Jockey K Gates was ill and no other riders available at or close to the allotted weight, DANE FIRE was declared a late scratching. (Race 3).
DON'T TELL ALI (C. Pye) resented the sand kickback in the early stage, lost ground and was shifted wider on the track. THE HYDRATOR (D. Simmons) got back in the field and bounded due to the sand kickback and lost ground. (Race 3).
FROM MORANBAH (MARCH 8):
The start of the race was delayed when MAHOGANY MISS (T Bannon) dislodged its rider behind the barriers. Jockey Bannon was not injured in this incident. MAHOGANY MISS was recaptured and examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. (Race 1). *MAHOGANY MISS finished second as part of a John Manzelmann trained trifecta.
The start of the race was delayed when OUR LUCILLE (J Babarovich) dislodged its rider whilst proceeding to the barriers. Jockey Babarovich was not injured in this incident. OUR LUCILLE was recaptured and examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. (Race 2).
Due to the distance of the race being incorrectly advertised as 1500m, Stewards in consultation with the Club and Trainers amended the distance to the correct distance of 1550m. Public announcements were made to this effect. (Race 5).
Stewards permitted Jockey S McGovern to ride FICKLE BUSINESS 2 kilograms overweight due to no other rider being available. (Race 5).
FROM MT ISA (MARCH 8):

Whilst parading in the mounting yard prior to entering out onto the track DEXTERITY (J. Kropp) became fractious and reared up causing both horse and rider to fall to the turf. After a Veterinary Examination the mare was passed fit to take its place in the field. Trainer Mr P. Inwood was advised that a warning was being placed on the mare re its behaviour in the mounting yard. Jockey Kropp was examined by the QAS and passed fit to ride. He later advised of mild stiffness to his left shoulder. (Race 1). DEXTERITY, a $25 chance, finished last, 25.00 lengths off the winner.
Shortly after the start, MY BOY GEORGIE commenced to buck and dislodged Jockey A. Spradau who was not injured. Trainer Mr K. Krogh was advised that MY BOY GEORGIE must successfully complete two (2) barrier jump outs with at least two other horses before again being allowed to start in a race. (Race 2).
At the request of Stewards ITZABLUR (A. Spradau) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon pre race, following recovery from a knee injury since its last start on 5th October, 2013 and was passed fit by the Veterinary Surgeon to take its place in the field. (R.S.C. Veterinary Incident Report No. 28415 refers). ITZABLUR was difficult to manage in the mounting yard until entering out onto the track. (Race 3).
Before the declaration of correct weight, Jockey K. Ballard the rider of the fourth placed horse NO IDENTITY requested permission to view the photo finish for third. Trainer Mrs D. BALLARD viewed the photo and agreed with the Judge's placing's. (Race 5).
FROM SUNSHINE COAST (MARCH 9):
SILENT DUKE (D. Browne) jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition and lost ground. Passing the 400m, SILENT DUKE was disappointed for a run and had to be steadied when racing between SAMBUCA SHORT (G. Goold) and VULCANIC DRAGON (R. McMahon), which shifted out slightly. D. Browne was afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance of SILENT DUKE. He stated the horse was unable to muster speed in the early stages and he was therefore obliged to pressure the horse until leaving the 600m. He added at that point of the race he then was obliged to take hold for a short distance before asking the horse for an effort upon straightening. D. Brown further stated SILENT DUKE had a tendency to race greenly throughout and was inclined to shift out away from other runners over the concluding stages. He added that SILENT DUKE would take benefit from today's race experience. (Race 1).
Near the 700m, BARNTOWN (J. Hoopert) had to be severely checked when tightened for room to the inside of RESERVED (M. Carson), which shifted in. In this incident, RESERVED was galloped on and sustained serious lacerations to the near hind leg. Mr T. Thomas, trainer of RESERVED, was advised that he would require a veterinary clearance prior to starting again. Stewards inquired into this incident and found that from a point leaving the 800m, RESERVED shifted out away from the fence, presenting a tight run to its inside. Shortly after this, BARNTOWN, whilst over-racing, improved into this position despite the efforts of its rider and as a result was obliged to race in restricted room until the 700m when RESERVED shifted in. In all the circumstances, stewards could not be satisfied that either rider had displayed carelessness and took no further action. (Race 2). *In spite of being galloped on RESERVED ($26) won the race.
D. Browne was afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance of DEB'S HOPE. He stated that after travelling well at the tail of the field he was unable to improve rounding the home turn when he would have liked and as a result of this the leaders were able to improve away from him at this point. D. Browne added however that DEB'S HOPE found the line only fairly and was somewhat disappointing. (Race 4).
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for T. Brooker being dislodged from SHELBY near the 500m. After taking evidence from J. Byrne, rider of FASTNET ACADEMY, J. Taylor, rider of STAR SPOTTER, R. McMahon, rider of DON'T LOOK ETHLEN and A. Hearn, rider of LOVE YOU LIBBY, and hearing stewards' observations of the incident, the inquiry was adjourned to enable Miss Brooker to give evidence as she had been taken to hospital to be assessed for injuries. In this incident, CUSTERS REWARD (G. Goold), INVICTUS MANEO (C. Kearney), SHALAKO (M. Carson) and PERSIAN TIGER were all interfered with to varying degrees. This also resulted in FASTNET ACADEMY taking no further competitive part in the event, and DELAT and AMARANTA being forced extremely wide on the track. (Race 5).
Stewards will interview jockey G. Killen regarding his riding of GOLDTHORN over the concluding stages. (Race 5).
A post race veterinary examination of FASTNET ACADEMY, which jumped the fallen horse SHELBY, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities apart from a small laceration to the near hind canon. (Race 5).
TURVANA was permitted to race without bar plates, which had been its advertised gear. Given the circumstances, trainer S. Kendrick was issued with a reprimand. A post race veterinary examination of TURVANNA revealed blood present in the off-side nostril. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that TURVANNA must galloped 1000 metres before stewards before being permitted to start again. (Race 6).
DEADLY DENNIS (K. Wharton) hung out from the 800m until entering the home straight, taking no competitive part in the event. As a result of this FATHER SHADY (D. Missen), which was racing to the outside, was also taken off the track and took no competitive part in the event. Stewards questioned D. Missen regarding his actions when racing to the outside of DEADLY DENNIS, in particular if there was opportunity near the 800m to restrain his mount in an attempt to ensure that he was not further inconvenienced by DEADLY DENNIS. Jockey Missen explained that as K. Wharton, the rider of DEADLY DENNIS, was in extreme difficulty keeping his mount on the track he had grave concerns that if he did not remain to that horse's outside, DEADLY DENNIS would no longer be controllable. Stewards noted the explanation, and given the serious nature of the incident, took no further action, however advised Mr Missen that in normal circumstances this would not be an acceptable practice. (Race 7).
Got to hope it’s a printing error. Sky Bogenhuber fined $100 for excessive use of whip - 41 times. (Race 8).
FROM BEAUDESERT (MARCH 10):

UPHELD PROTESTS:
FROM EAGLE FARM (MARCH 5):
Consideration was given to a protest lodged by M. Cahill, rider of the 2nd placegetter, WARRIOR SKY, against BELDAN (A. Allen) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 100m. On the evidence it was established that inside the final 100m, BELDAN shifted out abruptly whilst being ridden along, resulting in WARRIOR SKY being inconvenienced and carried wider from its rightful running. As stewards were of the opinion that the impediment suffered by WARRIOR SKY exceeded the half neck margin between both horses, the protest was upheld and the Judge's placings amended accordingly. A. Allen, rider of BELDAN, was advised he would be expected to stop riding and straighten sooner than he did on this occasion. (Race 1).

FROM KILCOY (MARCH 6):
B. El-Issa, the rider of OVER THE CHOICE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that at the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ARCTIC RED (S. Fawke), dictating that runner in on to RELENTLESS HEART (J. Orman), resulting in that runner being dictated in across the racing line of MASTER VINNIE (G. Geran), which had to be severely checked as a result. Ride), FAITH'N'COURAGE (P. Schmidt), SPONTANEITY (A. Allen) and FINAL CRESCENDO (T. Harrison), resulting in FINAL CRESCENDO having to be checked approaching the 800m. In issuing the charge, stewards were mindful that at the point where jockey Munce made an attempt to relieve the pressure, he was unable to do so due to CHOSEN TALENT (R. Wiggins), which was racing to his outside, being dictated inwards by JUST A PERLA (M. McKenzie). Jockey Munce's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, with the term to commence at midnight on Sunday 9 March and expire at midnight on Thursday 20 March 2014. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Munce's good riding record as well as the degree of interference caused to runners to his inside. Apprentice M. McKenzie was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in, making contact with CHOSEN TALENT approaching the 800m which tightened the running of TAMBO'S JEWEL (C. Munce).
