RACE 1:
JACK BE QUICK (3) is well drawn and a 4kg weight drop on latest GC 6th last Sat. Distance is his big plus. NO PROBLEM (1) keeps getting the job done but how long can he keep producing? Had a long campaign. SHADOWSIDE (5) is an on-pacer and wasn’t far behind No Problem when they met. Rough chances 2, 4, 6, 7 and 9.
RACE 2:
PURE PURFFECTION (8) has been solid in 2 runs since a spell and well weighted under the Plate conditions. LISA LOST IT (6) has the good gate and speed to match and this is her most effective distance. TERMSOF TRADE (2) is consistent and the one alley ensures a trouble-free run. Rough chances 3, 5, 7 and 9.
RACE 3:
VAZ DE TORRES (13) has hit his straps with easy wins Sunny Coast and Doomben midweek. Nice weight here and mile at EF is tailor-made. FRENCH LESSON (2) deserves to win. Ultra consistent since campaigning in SE-Qld. QUICK WITTED (9) will have admirers on her 2 GC placings this campaign. Looking for mile. Rough chances 3, 4, 5, 7 and 15.
RACE 4:
Providing no showers arrive, LISTEN SON (1) gets the chance to control this race. Terrific D’bn 2nd last start and well weighted today with claim. LADY ECHELON (9) secures a perfect trip and proven at EF mile. Not just a wet tracker in my book. RENEWED VITALITY (7) gets all the favours but doesn’t win out of turn. Rough chances 3, 8, 9 and 11.
RACE 5:
HARBOR SPRINGS (12) is a lightly-raced type but promising and looking for this distance. Cahill booked and getting into skinny odds. KENTAUR (10) rolls forward with the light weight again and will take catching. Good D’bn 2nd latest. BEAU BOY (9) is a handy stayer who can run a race here on tough provincial wins. Rough chances 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7.
RACE 6:
LITTLE BIT DITSY (3) is lightly-raced and promising. Strong D’bn 1200m winner last start and trialled well since. TORNADO MISS (2) can run well 1st-up. Looked good recent D’bn trial. BEATNIKS (1) resumes but trialled easily and has a strong finish. Rough chances 1, 5 and 8.
RACE 7:
JEFFERSON PARK (7) arrives here with a good CV from NSW and will enjoy a perfect run just off the speed. Cahill booked and appeals each-way. THE STOREMAN (3) was sharp 1st-up D’bn 1000m but 1200m and 58.5kg now? Value? STAR SAMMY (6) also secures a good run in transit and is consistent. Rough chances 4, 13 and 14.
RACE 8:
SINGLE SPIRIT (5) has always had a wrap on him and from the good gate the 1400m looks ideal at his 3rd run back. KURTLEY (4) is not far behind Single Spirit in assessments on this race. DOCTOR DAVID (1) has the right form and is a live chance again. Rough chances 2, 3, 8, 10 and 16.
BEST BET: LISTEN SON (Race 4)
BEST EACHWAY: JEFFERSON PARK (Race 7)
BEST ROUGHIE: TORNADO MISS (Race 6)
QUADRELLA: 2, 9, 10, 12 / 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10 / 3, 6, 7 / 1, 4, 5, 13
