Form assessed for a heavy 9. Possible upgrade?

RACE 1:

EXECUTED (2) ran into a smart one at GC a fortnight ago and should go one better today. Likely to park outside leader CHARLOTTE GRACE (9) who was quick in winning on debut Doomben midweek. Quinella hope. COMBATANT (3) appreciated blinkers easy EF provincial win but slightly harder now. Rough chances 5, 6, 8.

RACE 2:

Open race. DANYME (7) goes well fresh and likes wet. Solid last campaign and can run a race 1st-up. ROYAL LOVER (11) should lead here and take catching. Value hope. MATABRAHMA (2) is a real “wettie” who will come home well. Rough chances 1, 3, 6, 8 and 9.

RACE 3:

LE CAP (5) easily won EF midweek on slow then good 2nd to smart Londehero at GC. Goes forward here and hard to beat. ROYAL SHOUT (10) doesn’t win out of turn but loves the wet and will hit the line hard. MORE THAN MONEY (6) is a last start track and trip winner but failed only run on heavy. Rough chances 7, 8 and 12.

RACE 4:

MARGINS (1) found Sydney too hard last run but back on his home turf should account for this average opposition. Won in heavy. SECRET GARDEN (3) loves the wet and freshened for this. Had easy trial in T’ba on Tuesday. BRAVE ALI (4) comes from New England and will secure a good run. Rough chances 5, 7 and 10.

RACE 5:

HEART OF MANY (6) won a weaker EF midweek almost a month ago but was solid in this sort of company last campaign and is a heavy track winner. RENEWED VITALITY (1) is consistent and chances are enhanced by a wet track. Go well. COSMONAUT (5) is most effective in the wet and distance suits. Rough chances 8 and 9.

RACE 6:

HIT THE ROAD JACK (7) looks fool-proof on an each-way basis. Very good all runs this campaign and goes forward. Won on slow in Caloundra. NEUSCHWANSTEIN (9) has a good gate and D.Browne and was unlucky 1st-up S/Coast. HEZA BOBBY DAZZLER (3) has won 3 of his 4 starts but unknown in wet. Rough chances 1, 2, 8 and 12.

RACE 7:

BENNYS BUTTONS (1) has the 59kg but he’s earned it and excels on heavy. Should track a strong tempo and finish off best. THAT’S THE ONE (3) has raced top company Melbourne and now with Barry Baldwin. Respect and watch betting. SEEKING MORE (5) will lead and give plenty of cheek. Rough chances 6 and 13.

RACE 8:

GALA AFFAIR (11) did a good job off a slow tempo when nosed out last start which followed three wins in a row. Go well with good alley and light weight. BUSHY (6) won easily 1st-up and gets a gun run from the rails gate. JUST A PERLA (2) was brave EF 2nd last Saturday and goes well again. Rough chances 5, 8 and 13.

BEST EACHWAY: HIT THE ROAD JACK (Race 6)

BEST ROUGHIE: ROYAL LOVER (Race 2)

QUADRELLA: 1, 5, 6 / 1, 2, 3, 7, 9 / 1, 3, 5, 6 / 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13
