Form assessed for a dead 4 with possible showers. Watch racing patterns early races for possible bias either to rail or out wide.

RACE 1:

Expected strong pace assists strong finisher TIME TO PLUNDER (4) who is in form as well. Pity that LUCKY BAA (7) drew so widely in a fast-run race but if gets outside likely leader LENNIES CHOICE (3) he will be hard to beat. Rough chances 6 and 10.

RACE 2:

CELESTIAL DRAGON (2) is a smart type, won 3 from 4, and handles wet or dry. Just needs a good ride from Bell to offset widest barrier. GRAPEVINE (6) may be ridden with cover today and gets weight advantage over male rivals while PINCH RIVER (1) will be on speed, maybe fading late. Rough chance 7.

RACE 3:

REVITALISE (9) was winding up nicely at the end of 1350m at Doomben 3 weeks ago and this race and distance look tailor-made. Go both totes. BEWHATYOUWANNABE (2) races on pace and is sure to look the winner somewhere in the straight. Watch for NO WIN NO WINE (15) flashing late. “Flying” in easier assignments. Rough chances 1, 6, 8, 14 and 15.

RACE 4:

Wide open but THE INVENTOR (6) gets to a suitable distance and drawn to get a decent run with M.Cahill booked. Top pick but don’t put too much to the test. ONGOING VENTURE (2) is handy but a little concerned by the barrier. ISAVENGER (4) stayed well in the wet in 2400m S/Coast win. Rough chances 1, 3, 7, 8.

RACE 5:

JAZZ SONG (5) only has to run to her Guineas 5th to take this out. PICKABEE (2) was good 1st-up and is highly promising but wide alley is somewhat of a hurdle. TUKIYO (8) gets easy run on speed and can be competitive. Rough chances 4, 6, 7 and 10.

Race 6:

BLACK CASH (6) was terrific in QTC Cup when wide and fighting 4th. Gets good run on pace here from rails alley and hard to beat. INTO THE RED (13) had no luck last time out but afforded a good gate here and will be competitive. REGULAR (8) will be on pace and tough D’bn 1350m winner 3 weeks ago. Rough chances 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11.

RACE 7:

Wide open Cup but BRAVE ALI (3) will take it up and prove hard to run down. Jockey rides him well. BRAYROAN (6) keeps finding the line and has been set for this race while IRONSTEIN (2) has the class edge but hasn’t won since 2011. Rough chances 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 16.

RACE 8:

ARCHITECT (1) is relishing his racing. Will be with the capcatchers but can produce a dynamic sprint. Munce booked today. WALKIN’ TALL (7) has been impressive at Ipswich midweeks. Will be on pace and can measure to harder grade. L’ENTRECOTE (3) is promising and is 2 from2 this track. Rough chances 2, 4, 8 and 10.

BEST EACHWAY: REVITALIZE (Race 3)

BEST ROUGHIE: NO WIN NO WINE (Race 3)
