Form assessed for a good 3 surface.

RACE 1:

LUCKY LUCRE (1) is hard to beat but wouldn’t rush into silly odds. TENACIOUS JACK (2) is 3rd run back but down in class and getting fitter. Can run a race at reasonable odds. VAZ DE TORRES (3) hasn’t fired lately but class drop will assist. Rough chances 4 and 5.

RACE 2:

Healthy respect for MAGIC SAM (4) having its first start. In good hands with a good jockey and trialled nicely. JACK BE QUICK (1) is a dual winner but up in weight and back in distance is of some concern to me but a chance, nevertheless. OUTRAGED (2) was a track and trip winner 2 runs ago then not disgraced GC. Rough chances 5 and 9.

RACE 3:

Long distance maiden so not keen. KIRCHNER (6) and ONYEKA (7) went well enough at GC to run well here. Blinkers might assist KIRCHNER. BEST SHOT (3) is the likely leader but hasn’t run a month. Rough chances 1 and 5.

RACE 4:

GOHARDASUN (7) is on debut I like its EF trial and blinkers go on today. Should take catching. READY REPLY (9) is 1st-up but was an impressive triallist at T’ba recently. Respect. SCORUPCO (13) is better than her first start 11th suggests. Trialled well before that. Rough chances 2, 5 and 12.

RACE 5:

MAGNETIC STAR (7) had the wood on KAISER FRANZ (5) at the Sunny Coast 2200m 15 days ago and I see no reason why the result will be reversed today. KAZAN (10) is running well and will be on pace all way. Beat Black Ninja at GC last start who then won in the city. Rough chances 1, 3 and 4.

RACE 6:

SPINIFEX FIRE (6) is racing well this campaign. Every chance latest Ipswich 5th but it was a class 3 in quick time. Suited now at 1350m from the good gate. ZIETTA (3) led all way on debut here at 1100m. Harder now and longer trip but there was a 4 length margin in that victory. PARASCENT (5) deserves respect on latest S/Coast 3rd. Rough chances 1, 2, 7, 8 and 10.

RACE 7:

ROCK ME FAST (7) ran well 1st-up here at 1100m 19 days ago. Fitter now and drawn to get the gun run again. Hard to beat. HEADLESS (1) is the likely leader and with an astute stable. Watch markets. ONE IN ONE OUT (4) will get all the favours from the handy alley. Rough chances 3, 5, 6 and 10.

RACE 8:

WARHOGG (5) is going really well this campaign and should get an excellent trip today. Very hard to beat. RIGHTEOUS MISS (7) is a last start winner and will get all the favours off the rails gate. SAY I WONT (4) is a central Queenslander and set for this 1st-up. Rough chances 9, 10 and 12.

BEST BET: WARHOGG.

BEST EACHWAY: SPINIFEX FIRE.

BEST ROUGHIE: KAZAN.

QUADRELLA: 4, 5, 7, 10 / 2, 3, 5, 6 / 1, 7 / 4, 5, 7, 10.
