Form assessed for a good 3. Rail out 7m so tempo important.

RACE 1:

THE WILDMAN (1) should have won on debut in what was a slow time race. Selected with race experience and better luck on his side. WICKED INVESTMENT (7) has the pace to overcome outside gate and debut 3rd was sound. CLATEAU (3) is in a good stable with a good jock and a good gate. Respect. Rough chances 4 and 5.

RACE 2:

BAHSA (2) will improve today. Back to 1000m with a 3kg claim in the right race. Value at $7 fixed. FLYING RIDDLE (1) was excellent last campaign and looked good in recent easy Deagon trial win. TRAVIESO (7) ran a sound 3rd GC when wide and will run well here with good gate and 3kg claim. Rough chances 3, 4, 8 and 9.

RACE 3:

SOME CALL HER WILD (7) is the key runner. Changed stables since last prep but is a gun 1st-up and Cahill’s booking is a plus. NATURAL DANCER (5) is the logical favourite. In-form and this is her best trip. Can’t fault YOUNG FUN’s (3) form and is a definite top 3 chance. Rough chances 1, 6 and 8.

RACE 4:

Little between WHAT ABOUT ME (1) and LUCKY BLACK (5) in my opinion. Both in-form and will control race at the front end. VAZ DE TORRES (6) is running well and is the next best. Rough chances 2 and 8.

RACE 5:

PUNTE NORTE (3) has come through two soft wins at the Sunshine Coast and the stable has a healthy opinion of him. Ideally drawn and likely to box seat. Ideal race 3rd run back. BUCKIN THE BLUES (5) was strong at the end of easy 1350m Ipswich win and the mile seems a good step forward. WALK TO THE BAR (1) is a last start track and trip winner. Rough chances 4, 8, 11 and 12.

RACE 6:

Quite keen on LAUTERBRUNNEN (4) who is a sharp finisher and in-form. Drops 4.5kg on easy S/Coast win. ITCHINTOWIN (8) was outsprinted in S/Coast 3rd but previous city form was consistent. SPEEDY SAM (13) will take some catching in front. Rough chances 6, 10, 11 and 15.

RACE 7:

RUDY (11) was good 1st-up and with the lightweight and the step up to 1350m, he should be hard to beat. He can reverse the result of ROCKET TO GLORY (1) who will lead again and can take catching with the rail out. SIR MOMENTS (3) was a star during the Carnival but will have to be good to win this 1st-up. Rough chances 2, 4, 7 and 10.

RACE 8:

Hard race but LONDEHERO (5) was good 1st-up and has generally shown above-average ability. BEATNIKS (12) is a strong finisher with the light weight. BUSHY (2) is talented and did win 1st-up last time in. Rough chances 1, 7, 9, 13, 14, 15.

BEST BET: PUNTA NORTE.

BEST EACHWAY: BAHSA.

BEST ROUGHIE: WARHOGG.

QUADRELLA: 1, 3, 5 / 4, 8, 11, 13 / 1, 3, 11 / 2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15.
