Form assessed for a dead 4 with a possible upgrade … a perfect surface with some cushion in it.

RACE 1:

FREQUENDLY (1) is a standout but insufficient data to find the placings behind her. To be honest, I think $1.4 or $1.5 is value.

RACE 2:

Race of depth. BUSH AVIATOR (1) continues to race well and should roll forward and set the tempo here. LOCKS LEGEND (5) goes to the mile for the first time but gets a cushy trip. SHIRAZ ATTACK (8) is a slight risk in my opinion with the wide alley at the mile but was impressive last time out. Rough chances 2, 4, 6 and 7.

RACE 3:

Keen on PANDORA CHARM (8) each-way. Has come back well in 2 runs and drawn perfectly to get box-seat run. Like the $7.50 fixed. SPORTING PAGE (1) should lead them for a long way while FOUR STRINGS (3) goes well fresh and obviously set for this. Rough chances 2, 7 and 9.

RACE 4:

Race of depth. HARMONIZED FEELING (9) is a lightly-raced mare who has taken a step in every campaign. Trialled nicely and watch her finish late. TREATMELIKEALADY (10) should get the lead and has come back guns a-blazing this preparation winning at both runs. STELLARCRAFT (7) will enjoy a good run and was sound 1st-up at Ipswich. Rough chances 1, 2, 5 and 11.

RACE 5:

HORA SEXTA (2) ran very well against a pace bias here a fortnight ago. Out to 2200m now with a 3kg claim, great value at $11 fixed. SALERIO (3) finished just ahead of HORA SEXTA in that race and will be competitive again. PARAGGI (4) is a last start D’bn winner but is 28 days between runs. Rough chances 1, 7, 10 and 11.

RACE 6:

SEEKING MORE (1) is my best bet today. Plenty of upside with the rails gate, loves Doomben (won 5 here) and runs well fresh. THE STOREMAN (3) comes across to sit 2nd or 3rd and is always competitive while FLYING RIDDLE (6) keeps improving but this is his acid test today. Rough chances 2 and 5.

RACE 7:

Excellent race. FREEZETHEMILLIONS (5) has gone well in 2 runs back and is boxed to get a good run here. Appeals each-way. LUSH BELLE (6) is unbeaten and drawn to lead off the rails. Will give a bold sight while STAR DROP (12) looked very good 1st-up at Ipswich. Go wide in this quadrella leg. Rough chances 2, 4, 7, 13 and 14.

RACE 8:

Intriguing race for the first big sprint of the Summer Carnival. Happy to be with BENNY BUTTONS (1) who is only a length or two below A grade. Goes well fresh and drawn to get the right run on a strong tempo. Fixed odds around $9 looks good. LOVE ROCKS (3) was plain at Caloundra but is a lot better than that. INTO THE RED (10) can be competitive 1st-up with the good gate. Go wide again in quadrella. Rough chances 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9.

RACE 9:

SOUTHERLY (1) was sound 1st-up at an unsuitable 1200m. Second-up at 1350m. He will be competitive. HANDYMAN BOB (15) arrives with good Central Queensland form and will lead for a long way. BUSHY (5) can run well 2nd-up. Rough chances 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11.

BEST BET: SEEKING MORE (Race 6).

BEST EACHWAY: PANDORA CHARM (Race 3) and HORA SEXTA (Race 5).

QUADRELLA: 1, 3, 6 / 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 / 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 / 1, 2, 5, 8, 11 and 15
